    HALO does something quickly!

I know you all know that I hated Halo, but I thought that I just had to tell you that I've actually found something it does quickly.

The uninstall is the fastest I've seen!

(can't help but wonder if the developers knew that it'd be the most used option...)

You could save that time by not installing it in the first place

After playing the x-box version i was mightily un-impressed though, considering they call it a half life/goldeneye rival it just doesn't come close imo.

Yeah and after the uninstall the CD makes a perfect coaster !

Only thing that is decent on it in all honesty is the timedemo / benchmark if you are wanting to test DX9 and the frames on it.

Another thing is that the newer drivers that are coming out seem to be sorting out the glitches in it making it run smoother. On the Catalyst build 3.10 the choppyness I was getting seems to have all but gone completely.

I finished Halo on the PC and at first thought it was quite a good game, but then the bland and very repetitive levels kicked in and after that it went downhill very rapidly.

I still have it installed, only for as Ferral mentioned, the benchmark that's built into it.

    Not played the getaway then

Halo is incredibily frustrating. I got lost on most levels because everything looked the same

    Flippin 'eck..

Halo is one of the greatest games of all time! How can you slate it so?!

    Story - fantastic
    Graphics - fantastic
    Physics - fantastic
    Gameplay - fantastic
    Multiplayer - fantastic

    It's brilliaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaant!

    I love it

Edit: And don't bitch about hardware requirements; Halo runs and is proper playable on my laptop, a painfully slow P3 850 machine with a Geforce 2 Go!

It is a great game (playability) but it doesn't come close to the xbox version, some things are best left alone

For goodness sake guys, stop believing the hype then, Halo is a superb game, it was released more than 2yrs ago on X-Box and was superb at that point. The PC version should have been released at this point and it would have been superb for the PC as well. But 2 years in computing is a long time, it cost Microsoft/BUNGIE nothing to port this to PC and its going to make them millions of dollars in profit.

Am I the only one that can see this?. The game certainly isn't half the game it could have been, but then they didn't try. They openly admit this, otherwise they would have kept the multiplayer campaign option.

Sorry If i sound pissed but I don't think it deserves as much crap as you lot are giving it.

I'm with TiG on this, I enjoyed the game on both XBox and PC. There were a few levels of repetitiveness but it's one of the best last levels of any game

TiG Your right it did cost em nothing, and it was released 2 years ago but i wasn't all too impressed by it then either really, it looked nice and makes a lovely tech demo for dx9 but other than that its a coaster.

Want a proper fps try call of duty or ut2k3, even going back a few years halo still isn't a patch on quake 3, ut vietcong or half life. Its just a semi decent game hyped up beyond all recognition by x-box fanboys. If it hadn't been hyped or i'd played expecting to find an average shooter maybe i wouldn't be as dissapointed by it.

    halo truly is sh*t...

halo is a sh*tty lazy port.. the graphics engine can pazalyze a 9800 (it even gets a tad choppy on my mates 9800 pro at times) and as for me trying to play it on a geforce4 mx, well, seriously it looked like a slide show of a carribean holiday.. and dont start me with those cutesy aliens.. and the aimer takin up half the screen so u never feel like u really hit someone ...

i think it was just plain lazy programming i mean Call of Duty looks visually more impressive yet can run on my machine... Halo was a great xbox game but a shiity pc port 2 years later is truly disgusting and typical of microsoft! i'd feel sorry for all u pep's who paid 30 odd quid for it except y'all got sucked in by xbox propaganda.. its one thing sittin round drinkin in yer living room with mates playin halo on the xbox, quite another sitting at your computer by yourself..

omg halo really annoyed me.. i mean a 2 year old port that needs a 300 odd quid graphics card

im off to play cs a game with bad graphics but far more playability than Halo.

    my anger is gone

I honestly didnt mind it. wasnt worth 25 quid, but I enjoyed it for the breif time it lasted. Then again, I only spent 5 minutes on the Xbox version, and it was one of the first games I bought after a long time without an upgrade, and much game lovin.
