    Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance

My copy of FA just arrived from Blah!

Pity there's CL tonight and Wed, will have to wait till Thurs to play! Heard some good things (better interface, start off with T3 available etc.) so should be a bit of fun

    Anyone else order/got this?

Not a bad game this but I found it to short, 6 missions in total, each playable as blue green or red but you can not play as the alien race.

Haha, no problem friend - I know what you mean, the orig game went into slow-mo when playing on an 80km map with 2 AI opponents on my PC. Will have a play on Thurs

You can play the Seraphim in multiplayer though

    Re: Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance

this game actually is more system hungry than the original sup com! My pc doesn't run silky smooth as it did with sup com, I would go as far to say quad core might be required for this game to run perfect at high res/graphics etc. I play 1920x1200 everything on high and it runs good but a little glitchy in places.

core2duo 2.6ghz, 8800gtx, 4gb ram is my rig. Ofcourse I could run it lower settings but I don't want to heh. Good game though albeilt can be a little linear at times.

    Re: Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance

Runs smooth for me which is great, and looks a bit better than SupCom.

However it shows just how much I suck/got too used to the SupCom AI - I got thrashed quite badly against the computer in my first few skrimishes

Played for a bit, it's not silky smooth, but I can play iy at decent res and not suffer too much FPS-wise

I love the way the campaign starts, T3 straight away and no baby-sitting, just all out attack

    Re: Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance

It struggled on PC almost identical to mine, when there where a lot of units attacking a lot of my units. (E6600, 4gig ram, 8800GTX....). Proper slide show in a few places.

I really disliked it though anyway. It is just far too extreme and far too hardcore for me. I hate how they got rid of level 1 mass fabricators, so now I have to focus on holding the entire map. I don't like that.. It's just too frantic. Atleast in SupCom I could just bunker down within my base and focus. When I am focusing on sending engineers in 10 different directions, each with an army to protect them.. it just gets too much.

They have clearly made this game to be all about mass production, and I just don't like that. I miss Tiberium Sun

And yeah, the supreme AI in this, absolutely wiped the floor with me. I was getting attacked from about 6 different angles. I had a bunch of enemy tanks take out all my mass extractors, so I sent in my squadron of about 10 gunships to kill them. I think they killed one tank before all getting wiped out by the enemy's interceptors.... When an AI that clever, starts mixing troops together to make the best use of the strengths and weaknesses of each unit.... it is just way too hardcore for me Infact, with those jets he had protecting his tanks, the only way I could have killed them, would be to use a real army of my own, with tanks, AA, and maybe shield generators too. And I only had one army like that... and it was busy getting slaughtered by a frontal attack. The whole experience was a nightmare haha.

i preferred supcom to this tbh. If I wanted an all out attack game I'd play something different.
