What kind of system do you have? Crysis is an obvious one, but you need a monster PC to run it. Call of Duty 4 is great fun, and will run on a more modest system, as is UT3.
Racing wise - do you prefer arcade or simulation? Arcade wise, Test Drive: Unlimited is great fun, for simulations it's either Live for Speed, or GTR2.
Could really do with more to go on.
Do you love those 2 games you mentioned? If so, theres a game called Two Worlds which is kind of similar to Oblivion. Theres also Gothic 3 as well, which might be worth a play if you really liked Oblivion.
As for COH there are loads like that. There is even an expansion to COH called "Opposing Fronts" which I think is a stand alone thing. It is meant to be really good. There is also Supreme Commander (and an expansion to that too), which is the same kind of thing but futuristic sci-fi instead of WW2. And theres World in Conflict.
As for racing, do you want rally? Or F1? Or on real roads and stuff? And do you want arcade action, or realistic? I have no preference really and therefore I really liked Colin Mcrae: Dirt, because it has lots of different types of racing, and also that Test Drive: Unlimited I had a lot of fun with too.
sorry im running ...........q6600 2meg 8800gts 320 meg
im not hard core gamer but enjoy it to relax !!! llol
-The Witcher! Fantastic RPG.
-Test Drive Unlimited is one of the best racing games on the PC - neither too hard core or too arcady. Dirt is great for rally stuff.
-Supreme Commander Gold is one of the best RTS games out, quite tough on computers but yours looks up to the task. C&C 3 is good old-school RTS fun
-NWN2+MotB good RPG in the Bioware style/D&D style.
never tried online gaming so single player preferd, or should i give it a go ??
Give it a go, you'll have fun, sure there are some idiots who can spoil it sometimes, but, mostly it's great fun.
Many of us use the single player side of games these days as training for when going multiplayer, as some games only really become really entertaining online.
Cheers vinny what do u recommend as a biginner ??
Depends really, the quake games are usually good fun, if you have halflife then you have cs.s a superb game. COD 2 online is great (have cod4 but not tried it online yet, still training;-)).
As mentioned above, supreme commander really comes into it's own when playing against a human rather than your pc.
I don't play rpg type games such as oblivion, wow, but both have a massive presence online, so they must be doing something right.
Really the best way, is to choose a game that you enjoy offline to play online, ie it's not going to be too much fun playing an online racing game if you'd rather be a goblin in an rpg.
You mention call of duty, I think that has a multiplayer side to it, why not give this a go. I can confidently say that you will find it more challenging that single player mode.
At first you will prob be pwned by those more used to online play, but soon you will get the hang of it.
