    SunAge

I've gone mad(er) than normal and bought me a new game - £14.55 by today's exchange rates if you pay 29.99USD for it online (don't bother paying 29.99 EUROS!). Anyone else heard of it?

What struck me was a: how much like Starcraft it is (isometric 2d!) and b: how friendly the devs are. Small company so I thought what the heck i'll whack 15 quid down for a copy (which is now downloading via the Stardock Central thingygummy bobby). Here's some screenies:

But really the teaser movie does a better job:

    SunAge

    Full widescreen support etc btw.

As my good friend pointed out i've still got a stack of games to play (but then i've got to work for a living) but this is going on the pile for the xmas hol period.

Quick gander last night - it really is a very pretty game (1600x1200) - whoever did the artwork was darn good. Sadly was late so didn't get more than a cursory glance but here's a link to some opinions - GamersGate - SunAge

    Re: SunAge

Thanks for the heads-up. Looks a bit like a starcraft 1.5 - not sure it's exactly 'redefining strategy' as the trailer proclaims!

    Re: SunAge

From what i've read it has a degree of depth to it that's unusual - there should be a demo fairly soon but the devs are concentrating on patches atm. Apparently this started off as a bedroom based production about a decade ago! I guess the neat thing about a 2d engine is it'll run on anything (laptops etc) too.
I'm a keen RTS fan and always on the look out for something different - i didn't think this was a risk given the price and the feedback i've read on it so far. Looking forward to actually having time to play it (was out last night and then fixing some crappy dell pc before bed for a friend).

I must admit it's caught my eye...I might just give this a whurl. Hope the demo comes soon as I'd love to test drive it.

this might require a look into. looks to be fun and if it will run on older hardware might be able to waste some time at collage

Speaking of throwing money away - how many months of WOW have you paid for now?

Whats the interface and gameplay like?

I can see I may have another game to get addicted too.

True, only 64 players per instance, but more than that and it gets confusing even on dedicated MMORPGS.
