    Need for speed

Having had a quick go on my mates copy, I succumbed to buying Need for Speed Underground at the weekend. (I also bought D&D Heroes for some reason, hopefully the new frog pills will cure that madness)

Having played it for a bit, I can wholeheartedly recommend it. Obviously the physics aren't up to the same standard as GT3, but having to dodge oncoming traffic whilst racing and jumping trains in drag mode does make up for that.

One thing worries me though, I seem to be spending just as much time fiddling with the "look" of my car, changing the paintwork, vinyls, accessories etc. as I do racing the tracks. Is this part of the slippery slope towards matching cushions and sofas, looking at pattern books and such like? Or is it the onset of a early mid-life crisis, such that I'll be going out and buying a soft-top sportscar in order to boost my flagging masculinity

Answers on a postcard...... no scratch that idea, I've just worked it out. As I seem to be hitting cars head on with alarming alacrity, it must be that if I'm going to go down in flames, then I'll make damn sure that I look good doing it

I'm using the Subaru Impreza 03 as it has got good top end and acceleration. Handling can be fun at times, but once you get the hang of sliding it around, it flies round the tracks. Will probably go for the Skyline once I unlock it.

It's sorting out the vinyls that takes the time, mixing and matching all the different types and colours to get just the right effect down the side of the car.

Still with my Honda civic... tis a beut!

I never bother with vinyls and all that crap. My car is very plain, with all the performance upgrades i've got installed.

Just discovered one downside with fiddling with the appearance of your car.....

I won a set of unique vinyls not long after getting level 3 paints. So fo a laugh I set the car up in perlescent purples with a giant rattlesnake vinyl on the side.

Did another couple of races, not paying much attention to the messages, and lo and behold it has ended up on the front of a magazine - So my lovely Acura NSX looks like it's being driven by a colourblind Redneck!!
