Have you sat down & added up how many games you've purchased in various formats. From the ZX81 on...... it's just plain scary! I got well over 250 (cuz I is old!) and stopped counting there. All that money!
Loads.
I've got a lot better though, I only buy games every now and again now. Only got Halo3 and Mass Effect for my 360, and I'll get Burnout when its out. Beyond that, apart from XBLA games, companies are going to have to earn my money by actually bringing out games I want to play a vastly inflated price for.
... I is old too (well, mid 30s) and I really don't want to think about the amount of poppy spent over the years on games - not only games but also the hardware. I'm just as bad as I ever was, I will hoover up all the 1/2 decent new releases I can find...
What we share with everyone is glum, and dark...
Well into the 300's here if i count all the old £1.99 games on the BBC etc.
I've got well over a hundred PC format games, (tend to keep all the old style boxes)

I would have bought more for the MD and SNES, but was dragged into the North East's seedy underworld of games copiers....something about which I totally regret and now say 'Copying is bad, m'kay', but at the time was dangerous and cool

Well I own about 100 pc games....and wii games, ds games, psp games and that is just current formats.....

C 16 (monty on the run, auf weidershen Monty (though in a reduced format), frenetix, scooby doo, etc)
Spectrum +2 (exolon, cybernoid, head over heels, various Dizzys, some amazing isometric thing where you're in a hidden world with dinosaurs and have to walk across a swamp and evade cannibal pygmies, Xenon)
Amiga (Rick dangerous, altered beast. Xenon 2)
PC
PS2
Rick Dangerous was awesome!
think my fave Amiga game was hostages though, i saw a video of it on youtube just before christmas, a game finished in 14 minutes . . . .those were the days
XBOX: BauerPrime
Oh, I forgot: I won Operation Wolf for the spectrum in a C+VG or Your Sinclair magazing compo when I was abuot 12. I was thrilled. I'd never won anything before.
I could never understand the appeal of OutRun. Motorcycle games where you get to actually sit on a replica bike: fair enough. Steering a car standing up? No thanks.
Going back to the BBC days now, I would dearly love to play Codename: Droid or Strykers Run again.
I've already got the fantasic Imogen remake by Ovine by design. One of the best games ever ever ever, faithfully recreated for the PC. Get it! Get it now!
When you think that that was a BBC B game, the graphics were little short of mindblowing, compared to the "knitted wooly jumper" style of repton. Or Repton 2. Or repton 3. Or repton 4.
Why do my posts seem to be stuck at 165?
Edit: oh. they're not. Still a hell of a long way off the magic 500 and my own avatar though. Sigh.
