    X-box and PC network

How can I do this? Is it as simple as connecting the two with a network cable? Or do I need one of those mod chips? I want to be able to listen to music on my PC's HD and maybe play Divx.

if you wanted to play games over the internet, then yep, it's just as easy as plugung a extra network cable in you your switch/router,
but as you wanted to play divx's and mp3s on it , then i'l have to say yes, you will need a mod chip

Can you run XBMP without a modchip? I thought you could only run microsoft signed code on a vanilla xbox?

Anyway, I've got an Xecuter 2.3b lite plus. No soldering required, very easy to fit. I put an 80gig hard drive in there, and have filled most of it up with mp3s and divx rips of my DVDs, etc...

It was a fun little project, and the xbox is now very popular in my house. A bit too popular in fact - sometimes I can't get on it to play a game
