Whats the best keyboard for gaming (Not seperate gaming pads, I mean full keyboards) I was looking at the logitech g15 or the unreleased Saitek Cyborg. Any views?

G11 is the cheaper one without the screen, same keyboard though IIRC
I bought a Microsoft Reclusa and love it. Highly recommended by me![]()
I just bought a G15 (new version) as my previous one died.
This hot girl came over to myspace last night, she twittered my yahoo till I
googled all over her facebook. Ask Jeeves...
System 1: Intel i5-2500k OC STABLE @5.05ghz with a ThermaTake Frio (air power!), 8Gb 1600 (9-9-9-24) R3 Patriot G2 RAM, nVidia GTX980TI ;
System 2: HP N40L Microserver;
System 3: MSI 'Ghost Pro' laptop - 16Gb DDR4 RAM, nVidia 970M, i7-6700, 256GB PCIe SSD + 1TB HDD
System 4: Samsung TAB S 10.1
I ordered a G15 v2 the other day after browsing a number of 'what keyboard' posts on here and reviews elsewhere. I noticed that on here most people seemed to mention the Saitek Eclipse 2, followed by the G15 and Reclusa. There's also the Ideazon Merc (which looked a bit too big for my liking), and the G11 worth looking at. Also someone linked me the Steelseries 7G keyboard earlier today, but that looked a tad expensive
Having not received my G15 yet or tried any of the other boards i've mentioned, I can't help you with which one is 'best', but just from my experience of browsing around and having the same decision myself, I noticed that the 'best' keyboard is really a personal thing and you'll get chucked a number of names that various people recommend, and in the end you just have to have a look at any reviews of them, what price they are and make your own judgement. Better yet, if you can get yourself down to a shop that sells them, go take a look and see what takes your fancy too.
Another vote for the Logitech G11![]()
g15 imo
Is the USB hub on the G15 USB2? I want to use a USB headphones through the keyboard and was worried that they wouldn't be powerfull enough to power it or that it was USB 1.1.
havent used any of the newer ones, but my saitek eclipse II has served me really well for the last year or so. so has my mx518 for that matter![]()
G15 is the daddeh! The new cyborg looks ok but I'm not a fan of the wedding disco colours and doesn't really offer anything above say the Ecipse II for me...whereas I've found the G15 LCD actually quite useful in a lot of games...
Just received mine today and still getting familiar with it, seemlessly integrated with winamp and ventrilo so far tho
Although I never managed to find anything from logitech about the usb specs, a review I read did say they are stil usb 1.1. Also it says on the keyboard and in the documentation that they will take usb devices that use a total of up to 100mA. Although i'm not totally sure if that is per usb socket, or combined.
edit : upon re-reading the docs i'm fairly sure that its 100mA total across both usb ports, as they are not powered seperately.
madmaca : I have yet to try it with any games, any idea if there is native support for games like CoD4/TF2 or do you have to go downloading 3rd party stuff from somewhere?

There is no native support yet for COD4, not sure about TF2 cos I don't own it. there is native support for BF2142, ET:QW and a few others. But you can find some excellent apps and mods for it (including an LCD mod for BF2) here:

Logitech G15 Forums - Home
Be sure to check out the forums on the above sites for the latest versions of any apps...

quite pleased with my Saitek Eclipse III but it's not perfect. Back light is great, but not as effective THROUGH the keys as around them, so only effective for my eyes on one colour, not the other two (good on purple, no good on blue or red)
I miss my scroll wheel tbh on my old Logitech Multi Media keyboard, but there actual KEYS are better on the Saitek.
Can I ask why you don't want a seperate gaming keypad?
The Wolfking is really amazing, and you can just plug it in and rermove it after use, without effecting the normal keyboard.
I love mine...it really is a great gaming keyboard.

The Ideazon Zboard is a another good alternative with its swappable keysets, quite good for FPS.
I have a ZBoard
My housemate has a G11
Having used his on the odd occasion for FPS the ZBoard feels cheap, the keys click a lot and feel like a bit of a budget keyboard...and I STILL haven't found a standard replacement keyboard set (mine is a bit grubby, had it over a year)
I've just got myself the microsoft reclusa. It's had so so reviews online but I cant fault it! really good quality bit of kit. A huge leap from a £7 budget microsoft keyboardeven the wristpad has been made to a decent quality with the leather like effect going on and for around £36 i couldn't complain, I couldn't justify spending over £50 on a keyboard.
