As the title says really... A mate at work has just got a 360 and wants to know if he can setup an online match with people from PCs - I may get invlolved... but would be good to know.
Thanks in advance!

Hi JP, I'm afraid it isn't possible.
Call of Duty 4 is independant on each platform and cross platform multiplayer isn't available.
Shadowrun, as far as I'm aware, is the only FPS that currently offers cross platform gaming between Xbox 360 and PC players.
On other platforms, I believe Unreal Tournament 3 may be cross platform between Playstation 3 and PC. I'm not 100% sure about that one though.
I wouldn't suggested it right now however, especially on games like CoD4 and UT3, I am an avid console gamer and also professional PC gamer - the limitations with the controllers and speed of reactions, just cannot match the flick of a mouse and such.
Until a mouse and keyboard option becomes mainstream on a console, or a universal control method all platforms can use, console gamers would get hammered by any half decent PC gamer on any said FPS game.
Sports sims however, fifa, PES or racing games make no difference however!

yes it would be rather unfair with pc vs console matches unless the consoles are using a mouse and keyboard![]()
Ah bugger it - oh well - at least it saves time for the other games!!! Thanks all for the info anyway
JP
You can (or at least could) do it with Quake 3 on a dreamcast =) Not sure if you still can though, will have to dig out my dreamcast and see at some point...
It wasn't really unfair then either as you could plug in a kb + mouse to the dreamcast for accurate/responsive gaming![]()
