    Universe At War

Anyone else got this new RTS from SEGA ?

It looks like I've blown the cash and purchased a game that looks good, but doesn't live up to what it promises

Even after the latest patches the game loads, starts and then within 10 minutes I can guarantee that the game crashes to desktop with an error and even changing drivers etc doesn't cause this game to work.

Why oh why do developers release half-arsed buggy releases to the general public for mass beta-testing and then bringing patches out weeks, not if months after the games launch.

I think this smiley describes what I'd like to do to whoever signed this game off as completed!

Now I can't use the software and because it's open it can't be returned.

    Re: Universe At War

I also bought this game after seeing the pre release videos on amazon and liking the look of it.

I agree with you, its a very buggy game that has been released too early in my opinion. On top of that, it is just pretty crap. The storyline is weak, the graphics are cartoony and look dated. The speech is limited to say the least and the units are badly balanced. All in all a complete waste of money!

My copy is taking a one way trip to ebay, stopping first at paypal central.

    Re: Universe At War

Well... I've played it for a couple of days now finally got it working after re-installing and I've actually started to play.

First thoughts - so totally unbalanced it's untrue. You start building as quick as you can, gather a few resources and before you know it the enemy has a "special" character (this takes you 20 mins to gain - yet the computer has it within 10!) before you can say "where's my defences". You then try to build some defences such as towers or even units to defend your base but it's wave after wave after wave of pure assault.

    So... what have I done?

Un-installed and packed it on the shelf of no return alongside naboo racer and all the other games which should of been good, yet are not.
