+1 from me. I'm still nowhere near completing it as I've been playing it in bite sized chunks but I AM loving every minute (other that the ropey, generic prologue)

Yes played and completed and imo very enjoyable, when i get time i'll be playing through on silly hard difficulty and trying different outcomes.

If you already have the game then just wait until march 14, when existing owners will be able to download the update for free

    Re: Anyone recommend The Witcher?

    Yep!

Its great... I can also heartly recommend reading the books to, well the Last Wish at least as its the only one in English.

My general tip for anyone new to it is knowlegde is power... read as many books as you can find and get the plant ID skill, and buy the books on herbs early as possible. I just started the game again and have got more blizzard potions than I can carry :-) and I'm barely half way through chapter 1.

Also, there is the enhancement patch due in March that will make some nice improvements and it will include a level editor.

    Re: Anyone recommend The Witcher?

I've been playing it on and off since xmas. Great storyline and huge dialog content. Plus i like the fact that decisions you make early in the game affect you later on etc. The only problem for me with this game is the load and save times. It seems a backward step compared to recent games where a quicksave if completed before your finger has left the F4 key. I have a fairly decent spec machine but still tend to find myslf staring at load screens for a good proportion of the time i'm playing.

Don't let this put you off though, its a good game and certainly one of the best rpgs i've played in a long while.

    Re: Anyone recommend The Witcher?

Have you tried it since the patch mathewdbarlow? They cut the load times a lot, with more to come.
