Question PC steering wheel, which one?

I'm looking for a pc steering wheel for playing rfactor. Looking to spend around £40. I have had a look around and there are loads...

From experience which ones are good and which should I stay away from? (would quite like one with forcefeedback if I can get it for that price)

    Cheers!

Has anyone heard of Thrustmaster for pc steering wheels. The name sounds weird, but I was wondering whether these are any good?

For around that price I think the only one worth considering is the Saitek R440

they are historically a joystick maker, of the aircraft variety. force which moves an aircraft through the air = thrust. nothing to do with sex toys

used to have one of those a long time ago. and for a "not super expensive" stick it was bloody brilliant.

if there was to be another mechwarrior game confirmed i would certainly look at getting a HOTAS for it.

Ahhhh MechWarrior. It all went wrong when Mech3 came out. Still have the original MW2 CDs with expansions, and Mercs!

Re: PC steering wheel, which one?

your so right. MW2/GBL/Mercs had atmosphere by the bucketload. like on GBL when your heading to your next waypoint through driving snow an you get a "mech powerup detected" and its a kodiak! and you just turn and run

Hehehe... If you're talking about mechs and joysticks I still have a mint condition, boxed Steel Battalion knocking around...

Re: PC steering wheel, which one?

IIRC it's not a clutch (though it did have three or four gears), it was for sidesteps. The right stick controlled where the cockpit was facing and the left stick (which was left-right only) turned the mech itself unless you held down the 'clutch' when you'd jump/sidestep left or right.

Re: PC steering wheel, which one?

they could so have done all that with one stick. apart from sidestep - but real mechs don't sidestep

I have a DFP here, used it once - then had a bloody stroke (one of the 'my brain has gone bonkers' sort, not the 'ooh, it feels soo good...' sort) so for 40 notes it's yours.
