    Moms, Dads, Bunnyhops and Frags.

So, do your rents play video \ PC games?

My dad (59) plays Red Alert \ Civilization pretty much every day on his PC, and has played the odd console games before, Zelda on the SNES, Doom on the Playstation, and even Tekken 2.

    What about your old folks?

The only game my dad has ever played on the PC is railway simulator games. My mum barely knows how to open MS-Word let alone play a game.

My old man does try, but if he wants to play an FPS he insists he use a joystick. I've put a blanket ban on him borrowing my games though as he always leaves the DVD's out of the cases.

Re: Moms, Dads, Bunnyhops and Frags.

I remember when my dad was still alive we played ping pong on the Atari 2600 (beginning of the 80s) but everything else would have been too complicated for him.

My mum however was addicted on playing Shanghai on my Amiga and later Mah Jong on the PC. Actually she managed to switch on the computer just about, haha.

I think old folks & high technology is like fire & water, no ?

These days I work for the helpline of an IT dpt and for most callers I have to breakdown the solution in very small steps and explain every step in slow motion ... I consider myself as the most patient person I have ever come across to, but sometimes I wonder what it takes for some people to add 1 plus 1 together.

    And I'm not even joking.

Re: Moms, Dads, Bunnyhops and Frags.

Word processing on the PC is about the height of it. Although I went afk for a while and came back and my dad was faffing around on Vietcong many years ago. I used to get the odd over the shoulder watch when playing call of duty or some other WWII games.

My mum and my uncle had a go at Indy 500 on the Xbox, quite funny watching them turn with the car.

My dad likes strategy games, he doesn't like FPS games as they make his eyes hurt

He's pretty good, well equal in skill to me lol in the C&C games, I pwn him in the TA/SupCom ones though

Re: Moms, Dads, Bunnyhops and Frags.

My Dad's been playing games since the Amiga 500 in the late 80s. He currently plays for a clan in CoD4 and BF2 before that (on PC). He tries to play RTS's, but doesn't get on with them too well, which is why I've now got his copy of World in Conflict. He is also into train/railway simulators.

Oh he's now 59! Was definately born a generation too early.

My Mum plays solitaire. Never anything else. She must have done all possible games of it by now.

Re: Moms, Dads, Bunnyhops and Frags.

My mum used to take the michael out of me screaming playing CS at home when I live there.

Fast forward to now and she's playing Peggle Extreme all the time, not only that but she loves to pull all nighters playing both this and Vexx on the xbox.

She loves those popcap "shapey" dropping and rotating games but I feel if I went round and popped a FPS on her PC she'd moan about it and then 3 weeks later be online, kicking ass and shouting " STFU n00b " on the servers.

My mum has only just started. Its the wii's fault, she now sits the cackling and ramming people off the road on mariokart.
