There's one load up screen, when the game actually boots and after that, very little loading time at all, considering they've squeezed this onto a DVD i think they've done remarkably well TBH....
I couldnt figure out the benefit of having the elite, for the sake of the HDD, hence why I have the premium
This is from kotaku..
Pop-In & Loading
With a huge, seamless streaming world, data must be constantly read from the disc. The PS3 version, with its required HDD install, loads missions a couple seconds faster and decreases pop-in. The Xbox 360 version can suffer from some very noticeable texture loading, as things like trees, vehicles and building signs will regularly pop-in as one tools about town. It can be distracting, especially during high speed chases, and the PS3 version isn't entirely immune from it, but it's not a game killing problem.
What's that got to do with finding an install option for X360? Or are you just trying to turn this into a flame war, in which case I will point you to the various articles complaining about the PS3 version
exactly gtech where as I'm wasting the benefit of minimalising this with a hdd install...
as for the elite it looks far nicer than the tacky wannabe apple white... and it had hdmi when hdmi wasn't available on the 360 at the time... If I recall all premiums were being sent back... plus the elite had more chance of being a falcon... It also compliments the black and silver theme of my tv/other systems/speakers/stand etc
as for flaming huh:S I have both ps3 and elite... I bought the elite first and chose the 360 version because of the exclusive content and because at the time the ps3 version was having so many problems when the 360 version was ready to be released remember way back in november?

this is no flame war, stop using that word becuase i sure dont.
You are all talking about no installs for the 360 and perfomances regarding it, the quote i gave you is the difference between the two systems regarding the installs. You didnt know about the install on 360 so that means you wouldnt know about the advantages/disadvantages! read the kotaku review and your find out about the non-install and the differences.
so just becuase of the content of kotaku's article you bring it on to me and call this a flame war???Installation
The PlayStation 3 version has a mandatory 3.4 GB hard drive installation that will be the longest 7 minutes and 20 seconds of your life if you're chomping at the bit to play. It's initially an annoyance, but PS3 owners will welcome it. There is no option to install the game to an Xbox 360 hard drive.

Here is the link and although its an article about the differences of the two systems, it tells you about installs. so lets stop this flame war lark.
Keef if you make a thread about gta installs then be prepared to be given infomation about installs.

Hang on - no one is accusing anyone of conducting a flame war. I asked a question that had the words 'flame war' in it but that's as far as it went - I could have chosen better words perhaps so sorry about that. A justification of the quote along with wider context was all I needed
yeah gtechs right... there's always one person who wants to start talk of biasing things and taking sides... and I certainly am NOT biased... in the past I have disagreed with gtech alot but recently he's been making alot of sense.
sucks that the install option was removed on the 360 though.after all you can never have enough fps/draw distance etc... shame
edit: oh and regards to blu-ray read time thats horrendous!!! didn't know it was that bad they always do this with new drives... why they don't just make the fastest possible one first I don't know... oh wait I do its a marketing scam... same with rewriters... they'll be a 20x out in a couple of years when they could of just knuckled down and made it in the first place...

but then, if they had included the install feature, you'd need the xbox shipped with bigger hdds = bigger cost, so in the long run....
TBH, I like the fact that I can just pop in my disc, accept any updates required and off I go, no installs, no delay... exactly as a console should be IMHO
