I was able to enable stereo mix on Vista to get the game to work, but I am now using Windows 7 and do not have that option, is there anything else I can try?

i had the same problem but now i found a solution..click the link below to download the .ff file..don't worry its safe!
after download copy and paste into your COD4 folder (nomaly in C:/program files x86/activision/call of duty4/zone/english..copy and replace, and solved!
