    GTA 4 Storymode Complete :)

34 hours and its complete (not 100%)

    The story Mode is done...

Now to get the strategy guide and complete it 100% (but i'll do that on the 360... which means starting from scratch again )

    i feel accomplished

    ditto

Caning the story mode IMO is not the way to go, did you do all the sub missions or just the main ones?

I am doing a lot of the side ones, as they are generally quite fun

Thats your opinion, and so be it

I wanted to get the story mode out of the way...

I did all the missions i was set, for everyone... i just chose to ignore the optional ones, where they phone u up all the time asking for a drink and stuff...

Its like a film... i wanted to watch the whole thing... now i will play it again from scratch (on a different platform) and take it all in.

The strategy guide will help me find things i'd otherwise miss too... some people like them others dont, its all down to personal preference... where would we all be now if we all liked to do things the same way?

Re: GTA 4 Storymode Complete :)

Du-uu-u-de. Why did you tonk through the story?

I do a few hours of story missions, then some of the side stuff. Got the achievements for nicking 20 crims on the po-lice computer, stealing the 10 cars for Brucie, got 1 left for the Little Jacob drug drops, started on the win 20 races stuff.

Then when I get a bit bored, advance the story for a bit.

The sheer scale of this game means I reckon about another 2-3 weeks before I get 100%. Then another play through to get the 30 hours achievement, then online, then DLC... this game is mahoosive.

Why fly through the story missions then guide book the rest?

    You've spoilededed it.

    LOL , far from it.
i got one with my deluxe set and if i didnt i would buy one anyway. finishing story mode - fair enough, easily done. jumps, packages ect - check the net for them, ok. giving detailed maps of all the shops, weapons, packages, jumps, going though each pro and con in the decission making sections, nice art work, general advice - and withough having to keep searching a site or multiple sites but having it all in a hard copy even for reference is worth it.

putting a strat guide for GTA, Final fantasy ect - good idea
putting a strat guide for simplistic games or online games with constantly changing content - bad idea.

Just finished the main story today too. Why all the hate for 'rushing' through the game, its like a movie you want to see what happens at the end . we can do all the side quests after.

I did 34 hours, 70% done Did all the missions that appear on the map apart from the assassin ones. It is a great game. so complete with nice touches, and a good story. Won't spoil it

Also I think its ok using a strat guide after. I mean I'm not going to spend 100+ hours (soo hardc0re doood!1) looking for all 200 flying rats!

Re: GTA 4 Storymode Complete :)

haha, this thread went well recieved!

Right, achievements... i got NONE! zip... Diddly squat...

Because i did it on the PS3.

I am going to hit it up on the xbox now its been delivered and take my time over it, and do all the missions and side missions and everything...

To be honest, what baka said was spot on... it was like a movie and i wanted to see how it played out before anyone else spoilt the story for me...

How exactly did i spoilded the game stewart?

I've played it how i wanted to play it and i enjoyed every minute of it... all 2040 of them!

    that was my perogative...

I got no achievements on the xbox for doing it (even though the achievement is for 30 hours playing, and i did it in 34, so wouldnt have got the achievement regardless).

Seems to be alot of people hating me for playing the game how i wanted to play it?

And i thought this was the games forum for mature members?

I completed the game in 25 hours *runs for cover*. I don't see anything wrong with what you, myself and I'm sure plently of other people did. I do have a fair few achievements unlocked now as well
