    Most memorable game/gaming moment

I was just sat here wondering what everyones most memorable game and gaming moment was?

For me, most memorable game is probably the original Command and Conquer, and most memorable gaming moment was eventually beating my best time in Mario Kart on the snes after playing it for hours using bowser on the haunted track.

    Good times...

    Re: Most memorable game/gaming moment

Memorable moments for me include getting the crap scared out of you when the dogs jump through the window for the first time in the corridor in Res Evil. Another bit that really sticks out more recently is meeting Ryan on Bioshock, what a revelation that one was!

But having to name a game, I have 8bit classic all time favourites especially Last Ninja 2 on the C64, played through it so many times. Still love it to this day and play it via an emulator. But getting with the times my most memorable and favourite game is Mafia on the PC. Story is immense and the final showdown in the museum is superb, you really feel for the characters and even though you have just taken out an important family member you still feel for him and the way he thinks on things. Then the little bit at the end of the credits really leaves you feeling empty inside and sorrow.

    Hehehe

Used to PLay C&C Generals, Zero Hour with the boys at uni (2 teams of 3 a side).

As a helicopter general I'd create loads then hide them off shore, then at a specific time, launch them all at once in conjunction with another attack from one of the others.

The noise and names I was called over Skype were impressive, but unrepeatable!

    Good times

Playing Unreal 2K4 with the Futurama skins was funny... one of the boys was bender hehe.

Being able to complete Monkey Island 3 without using a walkthrough, it took many hours but it was worth it.

Yeah, Resident Evil, that was a memorable game, all the others seem to fade together but I can remember loads from that. The first time I played Serious Sam and saw the huge environments and bosses too.

    Re: Most memorable game/gaming moment

I like reading through these kinds of threads

Mine's probably playing Super Monkey Ball on the GC until 4 o'clock in the morning with some mates. We'd all drunk quite heavily and eventually just got progressively worse and worse at the game until there was no point in playing. Fun as hell though!

Also, playing all the way through Final Fantasy 8 with my sister in the summer between primary and secondary school. I invested so much time in that game.

More recently, the bit in HL: Episode 2, when you're fighting off antlions with other rebels and protecting Alex who is slowly dying...the music kicks in at just the right moment and gives you brilliant buzz. The track's called 'Vortal Combat' - I still play through it from time to time on Audiosurf.

Mine was completing Renegade on the 128K Spectrum I remember thinking how good the level was where you had to flying kick the guys off the Motorbikes. Also if you go a certain move right you could do a knee to the ********

SO when do you think they will release it for the PS3 lol

The original ghost recon was amazing. When the demo was released on Xbox magazine I played the multiplayer for about 30 or 40 hours with a friend trying to complete it on hardest difficulty with 1 man each. Best demo I've played. The full game got way more play time. The new ones aren't as good.

Loads of memorable moments in Serious Sam - First and Second encounter. Like at the end of the first encounter when you battle Ugh Zan III (the massive dude) and you aren't even the height of his hoof. Now that I think of it most of the levels had something very memorable about them.

In World of Warcraft when you are in your first 40 man raid (none of this 25 man crap they have nowadays) to Molten Core, it was just so impressive.

The endless hours of Perfect Dark or Goldeneye played on multiplayer when I was younger.

And finally for all the wrong reasons: the ending of Halo 2. I just happened as I was getting geared up to fight.

probably playing alien vs predator 2 xD, was a well good game and running around being scared just added to it. Halo, the original that was actually good, great times playing and had so much play time i think i completed it about 5 tmes on every difficulty with my m8 in co-op, fighting the flood hand to hand= good gameplay xD.

    Re: Most memorable game/gaming moment

The colonel telling you to turn the console off in MGS3, I reached that point at about 4am, baked my noodle. So I listened Just about the entirety of MGS1 on PS1 too, fantastic game and well ahead of it's time looking back.

    That first sunrise on Crysis.

Trying to walk out the front door at the start of the first Resi Evil. Almost knocked myself out on the wall behind me.

Getting my first PVP kill on EVE, heart was pounding, never had so much bloodthirst from a game.

Getting all gold licenses on the original GT.

Very start of a game on gulf of oman(BF2). Jumping in a tank, taking a potshot at an incoming cobra with the main gun, missing and hitting a full blackhawk on the carrier surrounded by people trying to get on. 14kills, but that's not the best bit, cobra pilot accuses me of base camping(lol) and while typing it manages to crash his heli rather spectacularly into a building. Entire fight ground to a halt with name calling and much lolling. It got a me reserved slot on the server

My God... where do I start...

My first time playing System Shock 2 and nearly soiling my pants as it's that scary!

Playing UT online when I was 'trialing' ADSL for BT with a super low ping and launching into a rocket attack on my mate which matched the lobby scene from the matrix on the sheer awesomeness as I was bouncing all over the walls.

Playing 4k.intel at ACON5 and being the fodder while baka (Steve A) ran about with his knife getting a few of them

Drinking all night at a Gameon LAN only to find at 9am we had CS games in the tournament at 10. I was talking like father Jack on the voice comms all day because of the stella.

Most recently - hitting 100% on "Rock & Roll Star by Oasis" on Rockband with the drums on Medium while singing at the same time.

    Ohhh, so many.

    Vampire: Bloodlines:
this whole game made the whole vampire lore seem very real and give an amazing atmosphere.
Like in the Ghost house and in the Park where You and Nines get attacked by a wherewolf.

    Fallout 2:
    Pretty much everything about It.

    Baldur's Gate 2:
When you go and see the druids in their little cave.
I went all Evil and poisoned the fairy glen's water. When I arrived back to the city the guards all attack me for my crimes against mother nature or something along those lines.

    GTA IV:
    Bank Job.
