    PC co-op games?

Hey guys just a quick question does anyone know of some good co-op pc games?

Me and my mate are looking for a quality co-op game to play over the LAN.

It don't matter what sort of game it is FPS, RTS, whatever as long as its good.

We've already got TF2, half-life 2 synergy, CS source, gears of war, cnc3.

    Any suggestions welcome.

    Thanks,
    Guppy.

Neverwinter Nights 1&2 are really good. Serious Sam is a good blast, Judge Dredd (Dredd Vs Death) is a decent game and not as recognised as it should be.

    Re: PC co-op games?

System Shock 2! Its getting on a bit but its great fun multiplayer. not sure of the legality of the copy but you can get it from home of the underdogs (the abandonware site). I have an orignal boxed copy.

Other co-op games I can recomend: Titan Quest&The Immortal Throne addon (top down action RPG), Rainbow Six Lockdown (its cheap!)... also how about Halo, I think you can pick up Halo 1 for the pc for pennies now and thats coop also.

    Re: PC co-op games?

Definately Rainbow Six, not had a chance to co-op in Vegas but I did play a lot of co-op Raven Shield at university, and it was awesome

Age of Empires 3 works well too with 2-4 players, the AI will put up enough of a fight to be interesting on the higher difficulty settings.

    Question "Lan Games"

Just typed in "LAN Games" on a Hexus Search, and this came up. Good thread.

(Also, it's not really old - for once - so I'm not going to be jumped on for resurrecting... )

    Yeah.

Would games like FarCry (i.e. slightly older fps) work in a 8v8 setting? If there are 16 computers "connected", I assume that a dedicated server would be needed. Is that correct?

Also, what's the minimum number of players needed, iyho, for a decent fps match? (I.e. 6 players would give you two teams of 3, and 3 people can't really "defend a flag", as it were.) Over to you.

    Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance.

Sheer bliss - as you can 'donate' buildings and units to you mate (which i've never seen before) - as well as being a really good RTS. Get the Sorian AI (1.2) for it too (free AI plugin).

Takes too long to get anywhere when starting from new though.

Not exactly ideal if you only want to go and kill stuff

It's a bit of a marmite scenario, but try Vietcong co-op. Tons of community maps if you find you love it. Great game because you can either set it up to be pretty hard or just play sillybuggers like doing a big open map using just shotguns and machetes. With teamspeak it's genius, particularly since the AI is masterly with grenades, so you have endless "Run Awaaaaaaaaay" moments as a grenade lands between your toecaps.
