    CS:S Tickrate Issue

    Hello,

I am having a tickrate issue that is client sided. For some reason on all the servers my mates get 100/100 or 101/101 tickrate, and I get random crap like 31/23 or even 9/12 and my game lags to absolute crap. Now I don't have any viruses, spyware, or unneeded crap on my PC, I clean it literally daily. I would post screenshots, but I don't quite have five posts yet and don't feel like spamming just to post the links.

My internet is 10mb, my rates are fine and my game is configured just fine as well.
When I re-install the game, the problem disappears for 5 - 10 minutes or so and then comes back.

This is really annoying, any help will be appreciated.

you can control cilent side tickrate with a couple commands; if you're using these already i dunno, havn't really played cs in years so dunno if they've changed the netstack (again) ;p

    cl_updaterate "100"
    cl_cmdrate "100"
    rate "20000"

That's what I meant with "my rates are fine".
I've tried all kinds of rates ranging from 20k 66/66 to 30k 100/100.
30k are the optimal ones for my internet and seem to also work best,
but I don't know what to do about the low tickrate issue that I'm having.

I don't know anything about tickrates. Is this all done automatically? :/

what fps do you get in game? What is you system spec?

Client tick rate is directly linked to your fps

    Re: CS:S Tickrate Issue

I get consistent 100 fps and if I uncap it I can get up to consistent 115 but none of
that seems to have a beneficial or positive effect on the tickrate that I'm receiving.

I wonder if your system is overheating?

Nope, I constantly monitor my system's temperature and it's all just fine, I get an alarm sound going off whenever anything is even close to overheating.
