How about tommorrow in 2D graphics with no storyline and two levels? No cinematics either.

I think, as Scorpio said, we're looking at next year, and I think that it'll be summer next year, as I have to be more precise than him.

I'm just been going through HL2, Ep1 and Ep2 with the Fakefactory mod. I'm 80% through Ep2, I forgot how good these really are compared to a lot of other fps.

Have you checked out "SMOD"? Makes the game pretty crazy, adds bullet time and such. Good fun.

I agree, They really need to wrap it up with Ep3 and start working on the true next gen installation of the HL series.

The gap between the episodes has been a little too long for my liking, I lose interest pretty quickly these days.

The Source engine has been updated quite a bit since HL2 first came out. Ep. 2 had some pretty major improvements (dynamic shadowing, better HDR, etc). I think Ep. 3 will bring engine improvements too. But yeah, I figure after Ep. 3, Valve will start working on "Half-Life 4" (since the three episodes are actually supposed to be HL3), and with HL4, I bet we'll see a *much* updated version of Source. Call it "Source 2.0" if you will. ^_^

I agree with the summer release period, though a release in the fall wouldn't surprise me either.

    Re: Half-Life 2: Episode Three

They really should have put out the episodes about every 6 months and then moved on to a new game and engine.
