If you're looking to burn up time try Oblivion.

Not entirely sure what those games you listed are though, so not sure what genre you want to spend time playing

C&C Generals is alright, but could have been better. Stick to the older C&C for more fun
If it's strategy your after, however, try some of the Total War series. Rome Total War is quite good, but no idea how it compares to Medieival 2 - as I haven't played that one.

Are you a fan of point and click games then? If so I'd go for the new Sam & Max games, released in episodes on the web but i think the complete collection can be bought on DVD

not sure what kind of games they are myself to be honest. LOL i never realised but point and click are the only games i do play really. another game that took many hours of my time were the civilization series. they seem to be up to revolution now, anyone played it?

Overlord is the closest thing to Dungeon Keeper I've seen in some time.

There are absolutely tons of RTS games out there, from C&C clones to Dawn of War/Company of Hereos and then more epic ones like Supreme Commander.

    Re: recommeded games?

mesaw a good strategy game the other day.

You had to work in a team to be any good online, and it certainly revolutionised the entire thing. The fact that no one could actually play as a team was beside the point.

Isn't Civilization Revolution con.\sole only? Don't know much about it

If you want to play some of the classic point n click games check out an emulator called ScummVM

    Re: recommeded games?

    The problem with adverts is that they often look too good;

For example, those pokemon games on DS had awesome adverts. With the words "Not actual gameplay" cunningly hidden in the corner.

    Civilization is fun, albeit easy.

Yeah, Revolutions is just a consolised version of Civ, go for Civ IV and you won't regret it.

Another vote for Grim Fandango here.

It will also be worthwhile getting The Witcher and like mentioned Overlord.

    Re: recommeded games?

    Grim Fandango
Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars
    Sam & Max Season 1
Monkey Island 3 (Curse of Monkey Island)
    The Witcher
    Neverwinter Nights 2 + expansion
    Balders Gate 2

I would start off with Neverwinter Nights 2, my favourite game
