    Re: Farcry 2

I am looking forward to this!

the multiplayer sounds like its going to be something else, from what I hear multiplayer will be the same as single player doing missions etc.

    Re: Farcry 2

Will it be even harder to run than Crysis?

Realise this is possibly a stupid question, but I thought some of you may know through research.

    Re: Farcry 2

Farcry 2 doesn't use the crytek2 engine, it uses the Dunia Engine. I'm not sure what the system requirements will be, you may be able to find them on the web somewhere.

    System Requirements

Looks quite similar to crysis as far as system requirements go. I just hope Ubisoft are less lazy in their optimising and bug finding than Crytek were.

Eh, looks like my 8800GT can run it on High @ 1680x1050 so long as I back off on the AA or something. Cool!

Erm, always take them to be a bit optimistic. Here are the crysis system requirements, which I think would struggle even with the recommended specs. As the requirements they state are similar I would imagine you will get roughly the same performance as you do in Crysis.

Second line in that link: 'CryEngine2 is very scalable so lower end machines will still stand a chance.'

I never said it would fly, I just said I could max/run it (likely with no AA). 30 fps is perfectly acceptable to me in an FPS in single-player (Crysis is odd that its really playable even lower than that, even down to 20).

Btw, "Recommended" specs usually doesn't mean what you need to max it, just to run it nicely (in Crysis's, this would be Medium, or a mix of Medium and High, or even all High on a low resolution if you didn't mind some lower frames...).

same as in Crysis then.. hmm cool, will be able to run it on my system then..

average of around 18fps on a system thats below the min specs for the game cant be bad.. benches posted in another thread on HEXUS.
    ______

and as 2Cold scorpio says it is perfectly playable at this res.. 10fps with the aliens allows you more time to aim so you dont get stressed as much trying to shoot the floaty gits.

basically: min/reccomended specs mean nothing, its just the same as nvidia/ati and PSU ratings.
