    Re: Fallout 3

I'll be PC also, even though it's only a 19" FS monitor & I have the Xbox hooked up to a 50" 720p HD set. Fallout is just a PC game, and I'd to use prefer mouse/keyboard.

    Really looking forward to it...

    Re: Fallout 3

I was about to make make a thread about those videos.
I can't wait to get my hands on F3 after watching some proper gameplay footage, before I wasn't sure whether to buy it but now I can't wait.

    Re: Fallout 3

I used to be at the point of getting this on the day it comes out, but there's a couple of nibbles I'm not sure about - Bethesda animations are not especially reknown, and they still look pretty bad to me. Running was ok-ish, but talking to characters still had the stiff rotation about fixed points that Oblivion and Morrowind had.

I'm disappointed at the lack of feedback firing guns too - everything looked absolutely stable and gave me the impression the picture of the gun was just stuck in front of the screen - something that annoyed me with Bethesda's last shooter to.

    Re: Fallout 3

PC Better controls, modding later on?, better looks (assuming my PC can handle it), cheaper

360 Controls may not be an issue thanks to VATS, downloadable content (but no mods), will work perfectly out of the box, more expensive, 32" TV rather than 19" monitor

I think the 360 version just about wins on points.

    Re: Fallout 3

I've played the entire FO series, on the PC, but with this one looking rather system hungry, it's probably going to be an xbox jobby, annoyingly, as I do prefer to FPS with the PC.....

there don't appear to be any firm GPU requirements/advisories either?

It's not finished yet, that's why. My guess would be just a little up from Oblivion, being as it's the same engine. But if you're not sure just wait until they've finished optimising it and release the specs.

I'll be using my 360. It's a multi platform game so It probably won't look much better on PC?
Although PC will use a higher res and maybe they will add pretty DX10 effects.
Do you reckon they'll be a lot of difference in terms of looks?

I don't think they will add any dx10 effects - no point really. But textures, load times and draw distance will almost certainly be quite a bit better on the PC, and then there's the mods.
