    The Witcher: Enhanced Edition

Anyone else getting this? I've heard good things about The Witcher, but held off getting it since CD Projekt announced the Enhanced Edition. Apparently there's quite a lot of changes to dialogue and gestures and it's packaged with a level editor (all of which is free to download for current owners). I'm a sucker for games with free cds and pimped out manuals (Enhanced Ed. comes with a short story and soundtrack CD iirc) so will definitely be getting it when I scrape the cash together.

It's out on the 19th of Sept.

Can't wait, feels like I've been putting off playing it for an eternity.
Sadly it probably also means the other games I have, barely out of their wrappers, are going to fall by the wayside for a bit...

    Re: The Witcher: Enhanced Edition

I have the standard edition with the foldout sleeve (similar to the boxed Guild Wars Prophecies when first released, have that one to!!! ). So will be getting the huge patch to take mine upto enhanced edition, can't wait really. Hopefully the big update will also be available on Friday, from what I have read it is supposed to be available sameday as the retail version of enhanced.

    Re: The Witcher: Enhanced Edition

    OK, I'm an idiot.

What's the difference between "The Witcher: Collectors Edition" and "The Witcher: Enhanced Edition"?

I like the sound of the stuff in the Collectors Edition and I assume the Enhanced Edition is a super patched version?

Are you waiting on the patch for the original game? (I believe that a patch will be made available with the extras in. Or at least I hope!) If so I'll be keeping an eye on this thread - fingers crossed I can get it patched up before I get home from work.

    Re: The Witcher: Enhanced Edition

Sleepyhead, The collectors edition is what I currently have. It comes with the game (obviously), the sound track on cd, a map and a lovely big art book.

The enhanced edition includes the new patch, basically after they released the game they decided to keep developing it in light of comments. The new patch adds tonnes of stuff e.g. re mastered dialogue and voice acting (some was re-done because of dodgy translation polish to english i think), improved models, new adventures and the level editor. The enhanced edition also includes a DVD movie of the game developmetn and lots of other nic nacs.

If you don't have the game already get the enhanced because it will save you a whooping download.

Splash: I am waiting for the patch yeah... So far as I know it includes all the extras, the only things you get extra in the bought copy will be the DVD etc. You may also need to download the level editor seperately? we shall see.

Also folks look out for the "new" book by Sapkowski that comes out next month, I say new because its the first time its been translated into english its been out in most of the rest of europe for a good numbr of years... I sound like an advert! lol!

    Re: The Witcher: Enhanced Edition

Hopefully the patch will be released somepoint today, download it overnight and have a day off tommorow to play it

Sounds like a good plan I think.

I wonder where you will be able to get it from, usual mirrors or the check for updates link on the game starter.

    Re: The Witcher: Enhanced Edition

I think my first port of call with be the "check for updates" whatsit on the game launcher... I wonder how big its going to be, could be massive judging by the amount of stuff they've included particularly the "5000 lines of dialogue" thats a lot of mp3

There are two new adventures, which I think are voice acted unlike the one that came with the 1.3patch.

    Re: The Witcher: Enhanced Edition

From speculations and what I have read around the net it is going to be pretty big. The size that does keep popping up consistently is around 1.7GB for the update. Pretty damned big really but well worth it.

    Re: The Witcher: Enhanced Edition

Yeah me 2 saw the collectors editon for £20 ages ago and was tempted but seem to have moved to my xbox for my games. Even so ill defo get it at somepoint too good not 2 by the looks of it. Wish they would translate the books to english.

    The collectors edition contains
    The Witcher Game
    A double-sided world poster map
An exclusive high quality 204 page artbook, featuring production sketches, artwork and behind-the-scenes information on the development of The Witcher
    CD Soundtrack featuring 25 tracks|
    Making of DVD

The enhanced edition is more like the final cut, all the bugs fixed apprently - some new missions etc

    Permanently confused

    Re: The Witcher: Enhanced Edition

    Its here!!

    http://www.thewitcher.com/community/...asy_steps.html

Edit: Its in chunks; the patch itself and the language pack are needed first. Looks like all the other extras come in little packets to which is better than one massive one I guess.
