Well my copy arrived this morning.. only problem is i don't have a working rig to play it with (yet)
Anyone got some first opinions? Engine faster? Gameplay fun?
And im the unlucky person left at 6th form >.<, did you order it from play by anychance? i have 2 orderes for warhead as my mate is getting it(lost his card xD) and so if its good then i got the weekend sorted. When i get home at like 3pm ill try it out and give my views on it, hopefully its just as good as the original because tbh i really enjoyed it but the lag sometimes annoyed me. As long as they made it work at high@1680x1050 at 30FPS+ then ill be fine
Apparently it's on steam and this thread: http://forums.steampowered.com/forum...d.php?t=726534 reports on people's impressions. It does seem from comments to be a lot quicker![]()
Just got mine, well 2hours ago but I was at mum's house.
I'll post some benchies in a bit!
If anyone's wondering.. while i'm installing it.. it's two DVDs: one is Warhead; one is Crysis Wars (the new and improved multiplayer) at least that's what it says on the disc, I don't know if it's going to ask for second disc to install Warhead, or if they're two separate installs.

Dang thing takes... FOREVER to install.
I'm hoping Crossfire performance is better now. And not totally broken in 64bit and DX10 modes. For those that don't know... if you run crossfire in 64bit (or DX10), soon as you zoom in with weapon or binops or whatever, you start stuttering like crazy and it gets worse and worse till it's unplayable. Doesn't happen in DX9 32bit.
Oh and you get higher FPS with 8x AA than 4x AA - wadahell? It's a strange beast indeed.
ed: Crysis Warhead has been installed successfully. Wahey! Now for Crysis Wars!
ed2: urgh SecuROM "Release Date Check" fortunately it uses the USA date - says it's ok!
Seems Crysis Wars is gonna take equally as long to install as well - gonna get a cuppa!

waiting for it to land on steam but according to steam there is a 14 hour wait before its unlocked.
Got my copy this morning - the reviews I've been reading have been pretty positive so decided to pick it up. I'm wondering if I can run DX10 this time round.
What we share with everyone is glum, and dark...
NO, i just got back to find a package and to my sadness it was only shooter hd-dvd from hmv >.<, where did you lot order yours from? mine at play still say "pre-ordered" thats it, shame because game send outn a day early along with many other retailers.
Aprently you can get 30-35fps on a $600 pc(some game site, no specs >.<) so its promising
Screenshots! Benchmarks!

Bloody hell it looks loverly!
Benchmarks look like nothing much has changed
Oh well, guess that's one developer on my "never again" list.
10-40FPS on a setting that's not the best (on a GTX280), at 1680x1050 resolution? By the time any PC can run that at 1920x1200@60fps constant, we will see games that make it look ancient.
Are Crytek the worst 3d engine creators ever?

Just finished it, was pretty decent! Crossfire is still buggered however. Doesn't really matter though since I ran through entire game on Enthusiast (Very High) DX9 with crossfire disabled and it never went too low :-).
You find out why it's called Warhead at the end, lol. And no i'm not ruining the end, it might not be the obvious
