..It's that time again! PCGUK (Free roaming done right - Far Cry 2!)

Sooo I gots my hands on the November issue now, and oooh finally a great and anticipated game getting reviewed opposed to all the mediocre cra-... rubbish we've had the past few months.

    So let's begin!

    Far Cry 2!

An intensely absorbing shooter that's a good contender for game of the year.

"Far Cry 2 breaks new ground. While there is a script and a story, the details of who does what, who lives, who dies, who's left standing at the end, really do lie in your hands. Far Cry 2 comes closer than any commercial game yet to a truly dynamic narrative."

i do have a feeling far cry2 will piss all over crysis warhead and i actualy believe it will be more playable then crysis warhead.

the big debate for me is does it have drm/install issues? if it does, my ps3 will have a say in far cry 2, not my future pc(going to build a i7 monster)

Far Cry 2 has been on my most wanted list for a while, glad that finally a game i want dosnt turn out to be a stinker. I seriously couldn't care less about crysis warhead after being massivley underwhelmed by the first (and my graphics card now being rather long in the tooth).

It's not Jack Carver though is it? They've replaced the protaganist

But like other people have said, DRM will decide whether or not I buy it.
As will specs. If it's another Crysis situation, with you needing the latest supercomputer to run it without it lagging, then I can't be bothered with it.

Re: ..It's that time again! PCGUK (Free roaming done right - Far Cry 2!)

I'll buy it whatever, i'm not going to limit my enjoyment by boycotting DRM. Cos quite honestly although i'm against it, as I think it's pointless - and making people rich from uselessness - I don't care since it doesn't affect me playing the game.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the score Mirror's Edge gets. It is a really, really promising concept; the problem I think will lie in the controls - it's quite the challenge to make a concept such as Mirror's Edge connect with the user's control input. Make too much automated and it's too easy, make not enough automated and it'll be like that youtube super mario video.

I think PCGUK have shown they're not afraid to voice a controversial opinion, which is nice.

The minimum/recomended specifications are similar to Crysis, although it's being released almost a year after it.
