Well the reason it wouldn't be would be because nVidia supposedly keep telling game devs to NOT support it - witness the Assassins Creed debacle.
Which was largely conjure anyway. Some review sites said they had "sources" to say nVidia was involved, then a statement from both UBI and nVidia said it was rubbish. Truth is, we'll never know and in the meantime it gave some sites a bit more traffic for a while.
Sure, perhaps if Farcry 2 didn't use DX10.1 without a solid technical reason (which, lets be honest, many people would know if it was BS or not) then there might be a story here.
Sorry for being such a cynic here, but the amount of crap posted on FD is shocking.
Oh I quite agree - my OP was meant to be a slightly ironic take on the same..
Their cards don't have directx 10.1 .
Likely because DX10.1 wasn't significant enough to bother (still, I was surprised that the GTX 260/280 didn't support it...). I think nVidia is concentrating more on DirectX 11, which ought to be out next year (along with their Big Bang III drivers to support it).
Honestly, nVidia users with DX10 cards will likely notice little (if any) difference to the ATI 10.1 users. I wouldn't fret about it, at least unless users report otherwise. ^_^
I have my shiny new ati 4870 card so cant wait to see how this looks on it :d
Hehe, its games like these that justify spending that much on a card
I kinda doubt it, to be honest. DX11 isn't very far off; a year or so, most likely. I'd be real surprised to see nVidia support 10.1 this late. Heck, there isn't that many DX10 games, let alone 10.1 (FC2 is the first one I've heard of). But we'll see. Personally, I'm going to hold off on an upgrade until the DX11 cards come out; my 8800GT ought to suffice (to a reasonable extent) for another year or so. I was initially thinking of getting a GTX 280 this year, but changed my mind. Not because of the price, but because I'd just want to replace it when the DX11 cards hit, so I might as well wait.

nice to see a game finally supporting this but i don't think its going to make much difference!
