I see over at http://www.custompc.co.uk/news/60510...-for-2010.html ). that Elder Scrolls 5 will be out in 2010, i hope they bump up the 3D Graphics Engine, looks really dated now in FallOut 3. Still both Oblivion and Fallout 3 are very good games.

It should be good, Oblivion is oh.. 2, 3 years old now? That's a long time in the graphics evolution!
The article makes a good point, both games pushed the top end cards at the time to their limits, so i see no reason why ESV should have any problems there!
They will have learned a lot from Oblivion i think, realistically they've only made 2 "mainstream" games - and morrowind didn't nearly get the coverage it deserved - so in theory they'll do a much better job this time (although they've been making RPG's forever!).
A few things i'd like to see are a lot more perks, like in Fallout, so that characters can be customised a lot more than they are at the moment. The amount of skills they've got is probably about right, but a few more probably wouldn't hurt - i'd like to see some general immersion skills like fishing and so on (i'm not sure if they'd want to do crafting, might be a bit OTT). Remove the boundaries on the world, it was a stupid idea, Morrowind was better in that respect. And of course levelling is likely to be improved after the kerfuffle that happened last time. I also think that levelling should be more flexible, not just in the way it poorly handled monster generation, but in the amount of time taken to level up (ie why should most people stop after around 20-30? that's 80 levels of potential item unlocks wasted).
But it's early days for this. It's going to be awesome when it comes out, and the hardware should be damn good too, 2 years of upgrades eh? Well by the time it's released - i'd go for autumn - we might well be seeing the next Intel die shrink as well as moving towards even more photorealism in games. I'd expect to see physics play a much stronger part in the game too.
One thing that's for certain is that it's not going to have multiplayer. That's a given. The most will be something like PS3's Home system where you can meet up with players outside the game's confines to show of your gear.
Removing borders on oblivion is easyBut there's nothing beyond it. Just modders space.
2010... 2 years to wait.
Aye, all of it's moddable, mods get rid of the levelling issues too - thank god for OOO! That's probably the redeeming feature of all ES games, no matter how much they cocked something up, odds are it's fixable with time and a talented modder.
But the point was that there was no need to do it in the first place, arguably it's more difficult because it's surrounded by land - morrowind was sea so they could just have it going on forever and ever
They could have just put something like a plague or a virus that got you as soon as you went out of the main "game" space, instead of putting big invisible walls up!
Cant wait for this so badly i loved oblivon played that game so much![]()
Wow...doesnt seem like long ago when TES IV had revolutionary graphics. But yeah...they need to improve their engine...and character animations.

I still remember getting hooked on Daggerfall and the joy of escaping the dungeon unscathed being chased by a horde of rats! I think it was one of the first games that I had to play with the lights on, especially with the creepy voices that would haunt the cities at night :s
I always get caught up in stealing and joining some thieves guild and then realising my character is an underpowered wuss who unless can hide in the shadows is an easy target in the open. I can't wait till they make a game like Oblivion that the story can be followed and played with a group of friends (not MMO style) - a bit like Neverwinter Nights.
