    Question Moving Games4Windows Live account

I've just purchased a new hard disk and installed vista onto it as it's faster than my current one. I'm currently playing through Spore, Fallout 3 and Far Cry 2 and I need to move my savegames across to the new OS installation. I think i've figured out how to move Spore and Far Cry 2 but Fallout 3 uses games for windows live so I think this one is a bit trickyer. Has anyone got any experience in transfering savegames etc.. tied in to G4WLive?

    Thanks

Fallout 3 only uses gfwl if you tell it to, otherwise saves are in the normal place.

    Re: Moving Games4Windows Live account

Yep, as above. Take yoour old F3 games and place in (on Vista):

    C:\Users\YourName\Documents\My Games\Fallout3\Saves\Profile

EDIT - Sorry, realised that this isnt a F3 question, but a more generic G4WL one. Well, it really does depend on the game itself. Saves arent necessarily tied into the G4WL app, that seems to be used more for the achievements and online play (Well it seems that way on the G4WL games I have played). I dont think that you will have to worry about it, just treat it like a normal game, back up the files in XP, google to find out where they go in Vista and that should be that.

    Re: Moving Games4Windows Live account

Just a quick update. I managed to move all my savegames, Fallout 3 is the only G4WL game i'm bothered about and copying the files into C:\Users\YourName\Documents\My Games\Fallout3\Saves\Profile worked a treat. I just had to log into the G4WL account first, quit out and then copy the data back into my profile folder.

    Thanks for the input
