    Re: Graphics Card

if you're running at 640*480, 256 colours and at low settings, then you might get 10fps. In otherwords, no

    Re: Graphics Card

The last good AGP card I can remember that will probably run those games at lower res' (1280x1024) is the ATi X1950 Pro. Not sure if shops sell them anymore. Probably not worth it at the price they'll be at though

    Re: Graphics Card

Found a few on OCUK :

    http://www.overclockers.co.uk/produc...d=56&subid=403

    http://www.dabs.com/productlist.aspx...137&PageMode=1

3650 would do it for you with those games. I would also make sure you have 2Gb ram as it will help no end.

    Re: Graphics Card

Dubs - basically what we're saying here is you're better just getting a whole new system than upgrade.

Processor (£75), 2Gb RAM (£25), Motherboard (£45) and Graphics card (£65) all in for about £210.

    Re: Graphics Card

    Hi Guys,
Thx for all the advice on here its been great. Looking at it ur right and i really do need to buy a new system but i really dont have the cash right now to do it. I could buy it bit by bit over the next year but the hardware would be out of date before i could build it lol. Was hoping to just piece together a system that would run a few games for now but looking at it its not gonna be worth it as u say.

I have a 3.ghz cpu and 4GB of ram just waiting to be used but the MB's i have are to old and the cpu only shows a speed of 1.5ghz on them rather than 3.0ghz so i really need a new MB.

Ill just have to go and rattle an empty tin on some street corner to make some cash lol.

    Thx again guys.

    Re: Graphics Card

Its a brand new http://www.ebuyer.com/product/81385 although its obviously an old pentium 4 cpu. Was after a cheap socket 478 cpu for my older MB's. Someone else mentioned that changing the FSB may help or check to make sure there is plenty of compound and a decent fan as this cpu over heats quite badly, meaning the cpu would throttle back to a lower speed to stop it burning out?

If thats the case, i made sure theres was plenty of compound but i still have an oldish fan so that could be an issue i guess.

    Re: Graphics Card

Go into your bios then and check to see if speedstep is enabled as some P4 CPUs did have this on. If it is enabled, disable it. Then run CPUZ and you should see it rated as 3ghz
And P4s are hot, power hungry beasties. I use my old P4 system as a heater for my room

EDIT: What sort of budget do you have atm if you were to build a new system?

    Re: Graphics Card

Well there's no need to disable it it'll help save energy while you're not using it.
As long as you know it is speedstep making it at 1.5GHz then thats all you need to know
