Both... dependant on game... such as Halo feels best on a console, but TF2 feels better on PC.
Neither can be discounted over the other, they both have their pluses and minuses

Why create a thread to regurgitate everything that was just said in the other thread all over again?
Not that it hasn't all been discussed a thousand time's over here on hexus and on the rest of the internet already anyway...
Personal preference is PC.
I mainly play FPS games, playing some Counter-Strike and making some 1 bullet headshot as you flick the mouse across the mousepad, nothing will beat mouse and keyboard for that. Other games I play such as racing games or sports sims, well I just have the 360 controller plugged in.
However, more recently I've seen that consoles are going to be the way forward with regards to gaming, more than anything because of the introduction with the latest generation of multiplayer capabilities, Xbox Live etc.
Whilst I can still game happily on a PC I'll save myself the money though.
I think I mainly prefer PC. I don't like FPS with a controller.
But games like GTA IV is definetly are something I feel is better on console. The contoller worked really well.
The 360 update we got recently I really liked. With a game installed on the Hard drive I found it made it a lot less noisey.
I think the main reason I feel that I prefer PC is because I find it easyer to sort out a problem.
If a component breaks I'm fairly confident that I can fix it myself.
More recently on the 360 I had Saints Row 2. But the game kept freezing up. That's the thing with the 360. It makes you wonder if it's the harware waiting to RRD or a bug in the Game.
I find generally getting patches and find solutions to problems easier. And then there is the modding.
Not only for getting them but also making your own content. Like how Fallout 3 will be releasing the GECK this month On PC.
Then there flexibility. If you wish you could make your game game a lot prettier by upgrading.
But saying all that it is getting a bit of downer with all this DRM and stuff.
That didn't really worry me that much before. But when a game like GTA IV comes with you needing to connect to LIVE to play, that put me right of. A victim of it's own success?
And it looks as though it may get worse.
Because people are going to do again and again in threads based on other topics.
(I guess this is why this thread was set up)
If people have to argue maybe they'll come here and arguee about there favorite lunchbox istead of killing threads. Maybe this thread should be called a GENERAL BITCHING THREAD.
Or I may be wrong and this might just be more of the same. Maybe this is thread to discuss rather than insult each other?
My personal preference is PC. Especially with FPS. I just can't get my head round COD4 with a PS3 pad! Add to that the graphical capabilities of PC games are so much superior. In the past, my only gripe with PC gaming was the lack of a good controller. However, this is now a thing of the past with so many games automatically accepting integration of the XBOX 360 controller.
Moved about 1yr ago from PC gaming to being solely console now (PS3). Main reasons are:
- No costly upgrades
- Less bugs and no annoying DRM requirements
- Integration of PSN into games, no more server lists
- Instant game updates when you start any game
PC gaming. I almost exclusively play MMO, RTS and a smattering of TBS games which all suck or don't exist in a console format. Also, current TV's and consoles don't offer the same resolution as monitors. I like fine details.

Pc -
- Better for FPS
- Highly customisable
- Cheap periferals
- Can play games at full HD+ resolutions
- Can multitask
COnsole
- Relatively cheap
- Better for playing with friends IRL
- You can sit on the sofa
- Better for sports games
Both have their drawbacks and plus points, one is not entirely better than the other.
/thread (before someone gets hurt)
I prefer the PC, as I can't adjust to using joypads for FPSs. I use a DFPro for driving games on the PC and the PS3 is just handy to play something different for a laugh. PS3 makes a great media centre and a jack of all trades and party "host", but the PC just does more in a manner I want it to.
I thought that, but after a few sessions on COD 4 last year, its just a good. I used to play only fps on my PC....now its just an internet PC!
Think how much that cost though......£1000+ at least. Not worth the expense or effort in my book. He'll be upgrading soon to for the 'next gen' games and I bet he can't play GTAIV at 1080p with full details, even with that system.![]()
