Why is that? all that meat get in the way? I didn't have any problems, we're on nightmare with that combination now.
Much prefer magic characters to melee ones on diablo it less of a click fest when you've managed to find enough plus to skills kit to have 32 points in chain lightning

In big groups like 5+ all the skeletons start to lag the game.
With just the two of you it shouldn't be too bad.
We've not been playing on battlenet either, I've been hosting using TCP/IP. That probably helps to.

OMG, I know this is a thread revival, but it seems appropriate.
"Ladies, Gentleman & Others.
My name is MSIC and I'm a Diablo 2 addict."
Yes, this bloody game got reinstalled a few weeks ago, and i've a brand new character that i've taken up to level 59 (at present)....
I swear that the latest patch (from this year) introduced some new Green kit, but as ever it's the gold stuff that I keep longing for. I have a body armour of 360, which is good for my level, but with a previous character I once had body armour with defence 550+, and i'm so keen to beat that.
Gotta keep looking, keep fighting, am not far off Act 5 of 'Nightmare' and then it's in to 'Hell'.
This game is too addictive!

It is. D3 is already on pre-order
And there's always Torchlight to feed the jonesing inbetween
Actually, and I know this is probably heretical, I think I might prefer Torchlight to D2 I love that Warcraft III-ish cartoony style, and I really like the addition of a pet. But there's something about D2 that means I'll always go back to it from time to time - probably the fact that it will play on pretty much any hardware imaginable!
I have Torchlight, and it is a good game I grant you, but the fact that I can take a single player d2 character and use it in a LAN game just pushes D2 into awesome (there's just something about spending the first part of a game saying "check out this ring!" "yes, but have you seen my latest hat...".
As an aside, when I did a thread search for diablo, and came across Scaryjims idea for a D2 LAN party I must admit to being tempted (did that happen BTW?) but then reality of wife and child and work kicked in. Oh well. Maybe in 10- 15 years I'll have the time.

Hasn't happened yet, but there's no reason why it still couldn't Bring the wife and kid and they can have a day out in Manchester while you hit things with sticks...
There's meant to be a Torchlight MMO coming at some point. Could be kind of interesting...

Announced.. er.. today I think.Multi-player – Play with your friends over a local area network, or over the Internet. A free matchmaking peer-to-peer service lets you make new friends for exciting co-op play.

Not what I was thinking of, but very interesting nonetheless The news screen for Torchlight on Steam has some info about a Torchlight MMO, but maybe that got canned in favour of introducing multiplayer into a single-player sequel...?
Ooooh, cool stuff
