If you have a 720p TV as I do, do you choose to game in 1080i or 720p. I personally use 720p as I think it leaves less ghosting and actually looks slightly better, less jagged etc.
Whats your view?

720p
1080i

Native resolution always looks better. Doesn't matter if you are comparing 480p with 1080i on a 480p screen, 480p would still look better because you lose more quality by using the scaler built into the TV than you gain by the higher source resolution. The TV will scale it to the TV's resolution...
1080i on 32" Toshiba
720p on the 22" LG
Both look absolutely great![]()
If you have a 720p TV, then surely 1080i isn't an option, as you don't have enough pixels?
You can set the input higher and let the tv downsize the image, some people think it makes for a sharper picture with more detail..
I went the third option and just bought a 1080p set![]()

problem with 1080p is so few damn games support it!
Wipeout does look awsome thou!
throw new ArgumentException (String, String, Exception)
1080i, my TV goes waffy with a 720p signal, but looks pristine with a 1080i signal...
I didnt give 1080p as an option as that wasn't really what I was getting at...
Just wanted to know if people with a 720p native TV run theirs at that or at 1080i!
at some point i plan to get a 1080p tv but at the moment I am happy with the graphical ouput on my Samsung which is only 720p.

1080p looks tremendous on my 50" Viera.![]()
HEXUS FOLDING TEAM It's EASY
As long as your TV has *exactly* 720 lines, then 720p should give you a better picture......as long as the games you are playing do not render internally at a different resolution and then scale to the output.
