heyy, i was trying to play on css earlier and whilst playing i experienced amazing shakyness of everything :S the hole of the game graphics seem to shake and i was wondering if this was due to my rates? like cl_updaterate etc .
can anyone tell me what i should have those console rate settings as?

they affect your connection and ping really

it depends on the server's tickrate as to what to set them as, like a tickrate of 66 would result in 66/66/25000 usually.

I wish valve just forced them to be locked, loads of people have wrong values so they lag etc.

Sometimes it's just the server - a restart of the server generally fixes it.

Re: counterstrike source rates - need help! :(

On quicker internet connections I found 101/101/25000 worked well, otherwise 66/66/20000.

There are some servers which will force rates to a predetermined level, which is particularly challenging on slower internet connections
