Anyone know of any decent Medieval games that aren't MMO or Mystical

    Hey,
I've been playing assassins creed, and got hooked so wanted more of the different genre. However, I don't particulary enjoy the ones that are full of myth and magic etc, I prefer more historically accurate ones. I have Stronghold, but was primarily looking for FPS.

Anyone have any suggestions? Or will I just have to keep on playing the same missions on AC It's annoying they didn't include more free-roam content, or a SDK really. Could do so much with that game.

Medieval II Total War is good fun, although not an FPS as you say. Maybe try the thief series?

For something 'lolworthy' go and pick up the Steam mod "PVK 2.2". Pirates, Vikings & Knights. It's absolutely hilarious, you can hurl your parrot at opponents or spam "insolent peasant".

I was gonna suggest that, but he wanted historically accurate and not magic

But the Thief series is stealth fps sort of. Real exciting stuff

Pity GOG doesn't have it on their list of games.

Hahaha, yeah, I've got PVK2 I think, forgot about that! Barrels of gunpowder are the way forward. I'll look into thief and M+B. How recent are they?

Have there been any new ones this year that have slipped through the net?

Mount and blade is good, downloaded the demo, but I'm not sure whether to get it. If it was multiplayer then I would, where you could wage your small army against another clan or w/e. I know this is pushing the MMO a bit, but it would work well as a game. As single player I'm not sure how much playtime/replay time I'd get out of it.
