    I'm certainly finding that it is a lot more stable than when I first got it, its a lot easier to tweak for perfomance now. It also loads up and closes down a lot faster! when quitting the game previously it took a good minute to get back to desktop and be able to access the start menu etc.

    I've mot tried the multiplayer yet but I always found that to perform better and to be more stable than single player.

    The first patch (via) steam sorted it out for me. I wish I didn't need games for windows live, rockstar club 18-30 (or whatever) and to load the game in two parts (load the annoying screen so i can then click 'start' to load the real game). So much faff!

    Big tip is to turn off the instant replay recorder - it really eats frames.

    Thats the first thing I turned off to.

    I think there is still room for improvement, I've had the odd random crash for no apparent reason... usually due to a cut scene.

    It doesn't half eat memory though - it's the only game on my 4gb rig that becomes a swapfest on exit.

    It runs fine on mine as well patch didnt seem to make much difference when I installed it last night.

    Good tip about the replay recorder. Will try turning it off next time i play.

    My only real gripe about the game is the lack of AA everything looks too jaggy and the post processing makes it look ugly

    Indeed. Apparently it's because it uses deferred shaders, and you can't have AA with them under DirectX 9 (you can with 10 but they didn't do a 10 version).
