    Should i get a 360?:P

Well, i have been thinking of getting a 360 for ages now(sold mine 2 years ago) as it seems alot of people i know have been picking them up etc. Anyone got some good reasons to get one? I have the money but im still unsure what it does better than my pc(apart from reliability).

Any help to force me to buy one is appreciated .

    Re: Should i get a 360?:P

I think it comes down to what you play and how capable your PC is.
My 360 has not been used in a while. GTA IV was excellent. As the the Darkening, despite FPS not exactly being the right thing for 360.

Saints Row 2 I bought. But It kept crashing. The games buggy but it leaves you with that sick feeling wondering wether or not you 360 is going die. Trying to figure out if it is the game or the machine.

At some point I want to buy The Last Remnant and the new resident Resident Evil will be out soon.

The excellent thing with 360 is the option to actually install the game onto your HDD. So now it makes no difference that PS3 as Blue Ray as none are limited in storage.

I have chosen to play Fallout 3 and Far Cry 2 on my PC. It just feels best for it. But with games like GTA IV, and Resident Eviil and maybe even Prototype, I feel these would be best sat down with a controller. It's all down to your own preference. But it all comes down to the games as the capabilities for playing games are not that great in difference. The 360 is a very capable machine. It is likely that most games you can get on PC and 360 and then there are some titles that either may have that the other doesn't.

And at the prices the 360 sells at now, why not?

I ment it as in the buggy ports crashing on it , crysis etc is reliable and my pc only dies every now and then.

For post above me, cheers for the post .
I know its a matter of opinion but i want one and dont at the same time , my pc is capable but some games that come out for console only and id like to get them i think its just justifying the £100~ roughly at this time. Ill try and make a decision tomorrow .

Do you know about the terrible graphics? They may very well be a game breaker. If you're getting it because it's an RPG, well the battle system is horrible too. Have you seen it in action? If not, you may want to have a test of it first, see if it's something you feel is worth the money.

To the OP - Short answer: Yes.

    Long answer: Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....

Ok I'm kidding. 360 has a good selection of games, great online system (except for the American kids, but you can't really weed them out). Most, if not all, of the so-called PS3 exclusives are or will be on 360 as well. Main downsides are FPS games being better on PC (duh) and the massive one is life reliability.

Have a think if there's enough games you want that you think it's worth your while now, then consider there'll also be some yet to be released.

I meant control wise. If you are used to PC and keyboard and mouse then you'll probably find using a 360 controller in FPS a nightmare. For me this has meant that given the choice I play FPS on PC.
And the way Games like darkening helps you with your aim is just patronising. You get your sights near the target and it automtically moves your sights on the target. Maybe you can turn this feature off but it shows how mose and keyboard are more accurate.

And the last Remnant. Only read a review somewhere that gave it a good score. Once I'm ready to buy it I'll hunt down a load of reviews.

I know Game and Gamestation sell them second hand. They also offer you a full warranty with that. if you are unsure then maybe this will save a bit

If PeterStoba pays me a £1 I'd say yes

If you're wanting great quality gameplay and you're not going to upgrade your PC every so often just to play the games then I suppose you should. But then think about what games you play or like to play and see whether they are mainly on the PC or 360 or both etc.

Not necessarily. I find it of equal difficulty on both controls, although that's probably down to me using a pad a LOT more. I really don't think it's too hard to get the hang of, just getting the right amount of little thumb movements, same as getting it just right moving the mouse (although that's easier to do, pads tend to be more sensitive in my experience)

In regard to the controls - I played the original Halo years ago for the first xbox, before I got in to PC gaming. I was a bit of a hotshot at it, if I do say so myself (Once played a 3 on 1 game, I won 50-nil) but after I'd been playing FPS on the PC for a while, I tried Halo 3 and it felt like an aberration!

    Re: Should i get a 360?:P

Sure you should get one. For their current going price (shop about - lots of retailers are offering free games and accesories - I got a 60GB premium with PGR4 and some silly Sega game for £140 from Argos a month ago) they're well worth it in my opinion. It's impressive and fairly diverse range of games, from Arcade all the way through to the Halos and GTAs of this world, plus xbox b-c made it a pretty perfect and cheap compliment to my PC and PS2.

I know some will disagree with me here, but if you like playing online the Xbox Live is the best you can get - well worth the £40 /year.

    Re: Should i get a 360?:P

I'd say yes, I love my 360 and although I used to be a die-hard PC gamer I have been converted quite happily as XBLive is very good and the other online features such as High-Def movie rental and plentyful range of downloadable game demos and extras.

    Re: Should i get a 360?:P

I would say the FPS games on the PC have far better control with a keyboard and mouse, also RTS games are way better on a PC than on a console, but GTA IV is a pain in the backside on the PC! Just installing it is annoying, having to setup a windows live account and the setting up a rockstar account and then joining the 2 together, as with the 360 you just put in the game, update the console if needed and your ready to play. So with games like GTA IV the 360 is worth getting if you play that sort of game.
Also to play online you have to pay on the 360, where you dont on the PC unless you play MMO games like world of warcraft.
