    The Witcher

Now ive been meaning to get this for the PC for ages but for one reason or another i havent botherd.
Looking through Amazon yesterday i have noticed the books are now out in english (yay!)
However ive also noticed that the console are getting a version of the Witcher this year called The Witcher: Rise of the white wolf. Anyone know if this a totally new game or is the same story as the PC version with better graphics and stuff??? cheers

    Permanently confused

    Re: The Witcher

Same story, new game engine/combat dynamics.

Both are good - PC one plays more like a PC game, console one will play more like a console game. PC version has mods and toolset, console one might well have DLC/achievements.

    Re: The Witcher

It must be just me, but I found the witcher incredibly shallow :S

Combat was simply click click click and the story was lame.

    my apologies if it offends

Same with me also. I don't know if I had higher expectations due to waiting 3 months before the update pack came out to play it?. I stuck it out for an hour of gameplay with most being some lovely rendered videos.

I've not lost hope yet though, I have it installed still and plan to go back with a fresh new outlook. Did the same with Stalker:SOC and the 2nd playthrough was 100x more enjoyable.

    Re: The Witcher

its better than most rpg's, the combat system is a bit better than a normal hack and slash as you need to get combos(yes with clicks ) and you can switch weapons etc. It is quite an in depth game so i suggest spending time getting used to it.

There will be a new version for pc(maybe new content) as they said they are not ignoring PC players but are offering the console versions aswell, pc still get new stuff .

    Re: The Witcher

    I absolutely loved it.

I thought it would be a so so game but for one reason or another I really got into it.

    Certainly worth picking up IMO.

I know what you mean, I have 3 games to start and a whole more on a list to buy.

Not so long ago I couldn't find anything and now I don't have enough time to start the ones I have, let alone the ones I still want to get.

Hey ho, better too many than not enough.
