    Cyrostasis

This one's due out in a few days and I think I seen a few photos over at OcUK. Has anyone played a demo? How does it compare with the rest of the shooters out at the moment?

    Re: Cyrostasis

I think that there was a tech demo out recently, and it was well, very shiny... They really have gone to town with the fluids and materials but it seemed really contrived. Havent seem much of the game itself (Cant see the vid above, at work) but that will have to see how far they have come along since that tech demo...

    Re: Cyrostasis

Can't seem to find any reviews of it anywhere. Usually at least one magazine manages to get an exclusive "give us the game first to get an guarenteed good score" review.

I dont know much of anything about it, but doesn't its name sound strangely familiar? Cryostasis? Personally, I'm extremely dubious when a title sounds like it's part of a popular series, but isn't. If your product is awesome, you don't call it the aiFone, you call it awesome product phone.

    Re: Cyrostasis

Eurogamer gave it 6/10 -> http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/cryostasis-review. It does look interesting but I'm going to reserve judgement until I see a couple more reviews.

There's a tech demo that someone mentioned, I'm downloading that now to check how it will run on my machine. They're right in with nVidia PhysX thing so it'll likely run like crap

I did think when I first heard of the game that it might be something to do with Crysis or at least use the Cyrengine or something. It's a bit like AMD naming their 1st Phenom II chips the 920 and 940!

    Re: Cyrostasis

Ive been playing it for a day or so (the full game).

I find it surprisinly enjoyable myself. Ran like **** on my 8800GTX so I plumped down for a GTX 295

What resolutions are you running at? I couldn't get the tech demo to complete the download from Gamershell so not had chance to run on my 8800GTS 512. If it was having a hard time on your GTX looks like it may be stretch for my card, depending upon resolution of course.

    Re: Cyrostasis

I just tried out the tech demo
Res 1680x1050 all settings at max
    FPS count was as follows
    max 79.8
    min 15.9
    Average 25
Thoes fps where just a bit too low, it got jerky at times and there's no vsync on in the techdemo, I spotted 3 times when I had screen tearing, probably be ok if I lowered/fiddled with the settings slightly.

    e6600 @ 3ghz
    2gb ddr2 800mhz
9800gtx (original not +, stock speeds)
Windows 7 beta (ps this is vista/w7 only not xp)

Looks funky, atmosphire looks more like Doom3 than bioshock.

And you can get the tech demo form Nvidia's website btw.
