    GTAIV (PC) Online...

Is full of sodding cheaters! Anyone else found this? I logged on Saturday evening to have a go before I hit the tiles, having not been on for a week or so, to find that 8/10 of the Free Roam games I entered had people using trainers to: spawn cars, have god mode and indestructable cars, have an M4 assault rifle that fires rockets! (at the same rate that gun would normally fire bullets)... its a real problem, I hope rockstar does something about it because its ruining the game for the rest of us!

Yep - I sold the game last week and I must have tried online about a week after release and already the 'pistol rocket' mods were killing all the games... Glad that I lost interest and sold it, before the game (single and online) bothered me more...

    Re: GTAIV (PC) Online...

I probably spent a good 15min with the rest of the people on one server trying to kill the cheater, the only way to take them out is to run them over and trap them under your vehicle...

Free roam is a lot of fun, in fact I think that the multiplayer is the best element of the whole game but it just seems to have become either a sand box for people testing trainer programes for the purposes of spawning stuff or a place for people with trainer programmes to log on and kill everyone in the most unsporting fashion.

I really can't see the point in cheating, where is the challenge? it must make games really boring.

    Re: GTAIV (PC) Online...

A quick heads up on this post - patch 1.0.3.0 has just been released and it claims to have addressed this issue:

    Security:

Detect modified files and prevent users from entering multiplayer if found

    * Game will prompt with a message after blocking user with modified data files from entering multiplayer
    * Should prevent multiplayer access from cell phone and GFWL join in progress

All well and good I suppose. The only issue is that the patch has transformed the game from perfectly playable and enjoyable to unplayable and unstable. Before loading the patch I was playing 3-5 hours a session (offline, never tries the online) but now 3-5 minutes before crash.

    Download at your peril

Rockstar better get their fingers out

Really? it+new gfx drivers... either or seem to hav done wonders for me. The game seems more stable and I have better frame rates.

I haven't seen any cheats today so hopefully its done the trick.
