Question Low Spec Laptop friendly online FPS games ?

Any ideas what online games will play on a Geforce 7000M as i'm getting bored with F.E.A.R combat and Cod 5 Almost killed the laptop at the lowest settings

Counter Stike: Source, Team Fortress 2, possibly COD4, Battlefied 1942, Day of Defeat: Source, Older Unreal games (tournament, 2003, maybe 2004). About all I can think of for now.

    Cheers

I did try Unreal tournament but i didn't like it ( never have for some reason ? ) and alot of people seem to be playing Combat Arms on low spec laptops but i found that horrid as for a FPS game you feel really disconnected from the action.

May have to resort building a Matx computer and ditch the laptop

Scratch COD4 from the list of possibilities.

You could always play Doom.. not 3, just Doom.

Battle field heroes looks like great fun amd does not require high settings

There's a few good oldies, but I'm not sure of the current community state.
Return to castle wolfenstine: Enemy Territory > that's free and was one of my fav's for a good long while.
Urban Terror > probably the best quake3 mod ever made, they broke off onto seperate game and was probably my fav modern day combat games.

Is there any way of importing private servers into Cod4 favorites without having to type them in one at a time ?

Re: Low Spec Laptop friendly online FPS games ?

id try old unreal games and/or quake 3 you can buy all of them pretty dam cheap off steam

Quake 3 because.. yeh quake live would be ideal but you will have to wait half an hour in the queue just to join a server each time.

theres also the original halflife deathmatch, counterstrike, battlefield 2...

BF heroes looks sweet altough only a private-ish beta atm.

Re: Low Spec Laptop friendly online FPS games ?

Thanks for the feedback but i've decided that i'm going to make room for a Computer table and build a gaming rig as i'm enjoying Cod 4/5 multiplayer but even on the lowest settings it's killing the laptop and i'm not going to pay £1000 on a gaming laptop as it sucks for upgrading.

Half-life 2 deathmatch is always fun and I think you can still get a free copy if you have an nvidia or ati gfx card?

    steampowered.com/nvidia1/

You also get portal first slice and lost coast.

One of my friends plays that on a 7300le so it might not be as uncapable as you think!

If you're thinking of getting a gaming rig, you can get one for a few hundred quid. Check out bit-tech's monthly hardware roundup of the best buys etc. I find it to be very current and wouldn't really argue with the recommendations:
