    Scorched earth was fantastic.
yes the garphics where basic but up to 8 players/ccp, more weapons than you could lob a shell at, a range of Computer Controlled Player difficulity from easy to truely evil, it was insane fun.

There was also a fun win95/98 one called . . . um I cannot remember it was shareware, but instead of "normal" and tanks, it was space ships and planets, eactly the same comcept but you had to get used to gravity not putting down but towards multiple points.
The CCP on high level could pull off stupidly impossible shots, it would fire in the away from you and orbit the shot around 3 planets and stright onto your head.
That game even had a editor so you could make your own shells.
We had the planet buster, a shell that when it hit a planet tunnels in, releaseing additional copies of it's self as it goes (max 6) when it reached the surface again it explodes (very large) and releases a burst of 6 more tunneling shells that explode when they reached the surface.
Shoot that at a planet and noting on the planet was safe.
We then made the planet expander, same thing but replace the explosions with new planets (centered on the surface)
Shoot that at a planet and you'd double it's size and encase any ships on it.
Was a great game, but could never get it to work under xp
EDIT: found the name of it, Warheads

Have to say, I still prefer Worms. Any of them up to World Party were great. Didn't like the 3D one very much.

We used to have something like this installed at school to help teach angles to the kids, was a long time ago though.

This looks fun though, may have to give it a try

I loved that, and DX-Ball when I was a kid. Haven't played PT in a few years though, but I have had the odd crack on the original DX-Ball. They are great games for what they are.

    Re: Pocket tanks!!!!!

Last year in school everyone used to play a variant of this called Tanks. Wasted many many hours in the IT room/on laptops playing it when we were meant to do work haha. Vs mode ftw. It was a bit obvious to teachers though when 2 people were sharing pcs...
