Aliens VS Predator 2!

Last week I completed all 3 campaigns of Aliens VS Predator 2, and today I beat the expansion “Primal Hunt”, which was actually the prequel of the events that took place in AVP2.

I found this being a very enjoyable game. It had an awesome story line, great music & scary movie-like atmosphere. The fight against the Predator as the Marine on top of the tower, was so cool!
Also the 3 stories of the expansion pack linked very well together.
It’s been quite some time since I’ve played such a cool & addictive FPS!

4 Years ago I tried AVP1, but I found it boring and stopped it.

I can’t wait for Aliens VS Predator 3!

aye its a great game, i did it about 2 years ago though

the sound effects are spot on, and charging marines down while sticking to the roof and walls is so cool it should be illegal.

Its quite fun in multiplayer too especially Evac it's like playing a mission but with a team of marines vs a team or predators or aliens.

The mission i played had the marines trying to get to a spaceship and evacuating where as if your the aliens you have to stop them escaping.

me thinks they watered down the alien too much in avp2...you run too slow as an alien, there's no co-op of the single player game, theres no skirmish but it was still a game that is replay worthy...in fact i might later on today

P.S. oh yeah and the gore was questionable as well...

I remember one of my 1st posts on Hexus was when I bought this on day of release and was wondering if anyone was up for some multiplayer mayhem with it !

I've done the Marine and Predator scenario but can't even get off the 1st level of the alien one. I get out the room into the corridor and get wasted by 2 guys with flamethrowers.

Scariest moment for me is near the end of the Marine scenario after you go through an infested type hangar into a control room above where dropships land. Lights flickering and you get some freakish Predator noises getting the paranoia rising, up the stairs into the main control room and there is a corpse stripped of its skin still dripping blood hung upside down from the ceiling. You hit the button to close the shutters and the Predator fires his shoulder canon at you. You then realise that you are actually being hunted by the Predator ! Its really creepy as the atmosphere created is really electrifying.

Loved the Predator scenario, creeping round whilst cloaked and taking the heads off victims with the spear gun.

First time round that game had me pretty scared.

I love how the first level contains no enemy contact at all!

After a while though it got "oh, the music is changing, something is gonna come around that corner..." and it did.

I like how the plots intertwine, but the graphics were a bit outdated (Lichtech engine wasn't exaclty top notch.)

Anyway, I'll check out the 3rd one if there's gonna be one...

It's a top game, ironically i've just started playing it myself. Incredible stuff, and it uses the lithtech engine which is a bonus. Some current games (chrome iirc) use the modded version of the lithtech engine.

Your not the only one First time alien came along i thought no way am i taking this any firther. its only going to get worse, but i did then i was creeped even more by the sound of predator up in the hill throwing a corpse down at u Such a good game tho. cant stop playing as pred when u start. I really hope they bring a 3rd one out to tie in with the release of the film

I love the whole aliens franchise and tho I didnt really get into the first avp, the second was amazing. Fave bit? Gotta be the alien level where you actually have to chew your way out of some poor guys chest!! I started the level and was expecting a cutscene, but then i was going "hang on, what are these moans, then ribs...." Pure Class.

@ Dorza, I'm sure they will make a tie in with the upcoming film. I bet you tho that it will be a make-as-much-money-off-the license-while-its-at-the-cinema cross platform game, and as such, pretty pants imo. Or maybe I'm a pessimist! Can you imagine it tho, with todays techs, bump mapped aliens, high res textures. It would be awesome!! In fact, I'm going to watch Aliens on DVD now!!

right enough there - i completely freaked & screamed like a girl the 1st time a facehugger got me my missus took the p*$$ for weeks

excellent games tho, AVP 1 and 2, haven't played the expansion pack yet but will get round to it soon i'm sure

Good game, although i felt the Marine missions were by far the best, with Alien ones next and Preditor missions quite weak in comparison.

'tis a great game - I've got the Gold Edition that includes Primal Hunt. Sadly don't get the time to complete the campaigns but sometimes manage a multiplayer fragfest. Amazing how many people are still playing this game - it really speaks volumes for the quality and playability.
