    EVE-Online

    Hey guys,

I recently noticed that there is an EVE-Online boxed set due to be released in the next few weeks and was just wondering what people thought of it? I've never played it myself so I'm a little skeptical but would it be worth giving it a go or is the game to far a head to be worth playing these days?

    Re: EVE-Online

I've just restarted eve with a new character, by joining a corp early on (look at other eve thread) I've had a really good grin, and kind of got addicted. If you can get in a corp it will help you earn a lot more isk (in game money), lose more ships (more than made up for by earnings), and have a lot more fun. Without the Ekchu corp I probably would have left eve again by now.
The boxed game is worth buying purely because its a cheap way to get 2 months subs.

    Thanks for the Reply

What career path would you say is the best choice out of military, business or industry or doesn't it make much of a difference?

When picking a Race are you only aloud to join corps within that race or are you open to join any corp (sorry if this sounds dumb but i'm not sure how the corps work on EVE)?

I think i will download the demo from Steam this afternoon and give things a try, will mean i get 21 days free to make my mind up

    Re: EVE-Online

I am by no means an Eve expert (attested to by the number of ships I've lost), but player corps are open to any race they want to let in. One intersting thing that you might not be aware of is that if you can make enough isk in game, you can buy game time with it, consequently you can play for free. A 60 day code is 630 mill isk, which is 60 days of playing. As a 2 month noob in 0.0 (lawlwss space) I could just about cover that, but realisticaly I could probably pay for one month in 2 via isk. At the moment I am too busy trying to improve my character, nearly hitting 2mill skill points which is low for somebody in 0.0. But being part of a corp gives me a better chance of making isk, and they give me protection, flip side is that you also become a target.
