I'm gonna wait for the Demo tbh. i don't trust EA, it could just be like one of their crappy expansion packs

same as that cesium, the main thing putting me off was a review saying it's exactly the same as BF1942 which i'm really bored of.

My mate in USA's got it and....

    From the readme on disc 1;

    ATI 9800 PRO
    - Battlefield does not support some of the hardware features of the
ATI 9800. If you experience strange graphical anomalies with this card,
exit Battlefield Vietnam and bring up the display properties on your desktop.
Click on Settings -> Advanced -> 3D. In the 3D settings for
Direct3D make sure the "Use custom settings" box is not checked.
If it is, make sure the "Application Preference" checkboxes for
anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering are turned on.

It looks terrible without aa and af on

He is of the opinion that compared to Desert combat this could've been an addon not a 3 disc release

Mine is on pre-order so i'll make my mind up when i get it but there are LOTS of people saying how rushed it feels.

Oh my yankee friend said it has the exact same annoyances as the BF1942 engine, laggy, spawn point not selected when it is, Renderer.allowallrefreshrates 1 thing....

    Unbelievable....

I don't think I'll bother with this until they've released the first patch.

i'm keeping open to opinion until i've tried it (still hanging on to me old 1942 clan). from reviews i've seen and screen shots above seen its more of the same, which is good, but i'm not sure it'll last me if it isnt sufficiantly different. at the moment my next purchace is a 3 way battle out of Soldner Secret Wars, Farcry and bf Vietnam, but there are no demos and i just wanna try them all first! confusion

    this game is great
    i love it!
flying round in hueys with guys on the machine guns killing vietcongs whilst dropping ure buddies into the middle of the vietnam jungle and playing 'ride of the valkyries' in your chopper at the same time (which people, friend or foe can hear on the ground!) just like in apocalypse now (im told)
also you can lift jeeps and tanks even boats using the choppers
runs fine on my pc just the same as how bf1942 in the same graphics (medium graphics) ran even though there are hundreds of clumps of bushes and trees to make up the jungle
one annoying thing about it is that you often get kiled by someone even though u cant see them owing to the jungle, i think if you played online though it would be much much much more fun.
anyone worried about this jsut being an expansion pack dont worry, it definitly isnt, a whole game is bf vietnam
    Pete
