Does anyone know when this is due? I read something on steam a while back but haven't found any more information on it since.
what can we expect to get? Couple of new campaigns perhaps?

I read an article on the net where they had soem game time with valve and the new DLC. Apparently it will be released before the critics choice retail game (game + DLC) whcih is expected on the 21st of april.
As for content it adds Death Toll and Dead Air to the Verses mode and it adds a new game mode called Survival mode. There are 16 maps for this and it is going to be like the campaign finales but no escape. You last as long as you can and i think it posts your times on a leaderboard. Apparently though 15 of the maps will be recycled from the current campaigns, my guess is the waiting for the elevator part in No Mercy etc.. but 1 is brand new and it is set in a light house.
That sounds nuts, I wondered if they might add something like the terrorist hunt mode you get on rainbow six except "zombie hunt" where you had to kill all the zombies in a given area before you could progress... that could be fun. Different densities according to difficulty setting.
I'd also like to see somthing similar to zombie panic where you can move objects around to barracade youself in, I think it would work better in L4D because of the finales where you have to prepare...

15 recycled maps....
Fun.
I would imagine that user content will be filtering through quite quickly when this is released.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Maybe but i think the fact that most maps are recycled has a large part to play in it being free. I almost guarentee we will get atleast 1 brand new campaign released by the end of the year but i bet we will have to pay for it.
The SDK will make it alot easier for community maps to be released, so like TF2 there will be loads of decent maps to play...
Sadly i went and bought the Xbox version so I could play with alot of my friends (they aren't really PC gamers) So i get shunted with inferior graphics and microsoft charging for the future DLC. still fun though.....I wish I had been around when they did their 75% off for the PC version i would have grabbed that too
15 recycled maps...boo.
Definitely need some epic finale map...speaking of which, TAKTAK, you want to try the No Mercy finale with me? I got an idea![]()
Do you want me to jump off the roof and set the car off again?
or are we getting Tank in the choppa'?
I can't believe the bots just ran away and left you to die
Also, apparently, we need to get infront of the plane that crashes at the start of dead air as it just pushes you along and scoops you up without causing damage
The bots have a natural hatred for me.
In the finale, you only need one person to call for rescue...so why not have everyone else hide by the ladder to the rooftop and have some poor sap answer the radio and set everything off. They can even hide in the closet for maximum protection![]()
I've run away at the start of No Mercy before, like youIt was just me in the safe room; dont think the other players liked my style though.
We should all try that at the start of a versus! Just all leap off the roof and run like the wind!
Anyone got any tips for doing expert dead air and blood harvest by any chance? they are quite tough
Apparently its possible to get "untouchables" achievement on the no mercy campaign, I saw a video a while back where they all hid in this room and the zombies ignored them. Its probably fixed now? anyone seen that? I think it may have been on the Xbox though.
Anyone managed the "zombie genocidest" achievement yet? I'm way off but I think I've doen quite well to get 22/50 achievements and kill over 4000 zombies in two days of owning itI had a whole weekend in with nothing to do.

Blaineoliver from my understanding of what Gabe Newall and a couple of other people have said is, you must release 2 premium DLC for every free DLC you release so i expect 2 campaigns to be released which we will have to pay for (obviously PC guys will get it for free) in exchange for us getting survival for free.
I got Untouchables on Death Toll sitting on that rock in the corner does the trick...when the tank arrives you can do most of your damage early with a sniper and when he gets in range you all finish him off quickly...after the last tank run to the peir set the entrance on fire and wait for the boat..watch out for hunters and voila.
