PC Steering Wheels - Whats hot and whats not ?

I've just binned my old Logitech Vibration Force wheel becuase it finally fell apart, so it leaves me without a wheel and I refuse to play GTR Evo on anything other than a wheel.

For the time being I've ordered up a xbox to usb adaptor for ebay so I can run my xbox wheel on my PC, and hopefully in a few months time I can grab a decent wheel for the PC. The only one I keep hearing good things about is the Logitech G25 but's very pricey !!

That said, I do like the idea of having a clutch pedal, and a decent sized pedal board as the one on the wheel I've just binned was far far too small, so when you went for the break you hit the gas too !! Sadly thats what using the xbox one is like, but it will be better than nothing.

Is there anything out there from the likes of Thrustmaster thats worth any consideration ?

All I can say is that I can't rate my G25 highly enough, I paid £75 for it second hand from AVforums, which was a bargain considering it's only 4months old. Maybe you could consider the second hand route to??

Re: PC Steering Wheels - Whats hot and whats not ?

Another for the G25 here, got it, love it.

Love the fact the pedals take different amounts of force, just like a real cars pedals.
The steering wheel has 900 degree's or rotation.

Seperate gear shifter, H shifter, sequential AND flappy paddle. Hand stiched leather on the steering wheel, I love the thing, also the logitech tech support is awesome.

A mate of mine dropped the power pack connector on the floor, it landed in a little bit of water and popped, he requested a new one, they said they would send a pack out..they sent him an brand new complete steering wheel set, free of charge!

Also the pedals are quite decently spaced, allowing enough room for double clitching and a bit of the old heal and toe action.

    Cant argue with that.

Re: PC Steering Wheels - Whats hot and whats not ?

oooh I really want a G25. I have a Saitek R400, which is well, adequate at best. Good for the money.
    Just can't stretch to a G25.

Re: PC Steering Wheels - Whats hot and whats not ?

What about the Logitech Driving Force GT Steering Wheel (for the PS3), this is the successor to the praised Driving Force Pro (for the PS2). These work great with the PC and are cheaper than the G25 (but still with 900 degrees travel and great force feedback). My Driving Force Pro (aka DFP) is great with GTR Evo.
