Hello,
Just wondering if anyone knows if Street Fighter IV is due for release on PC, and if so when??![]()
Its supposed to be out this summer.
Last I heard there was some delay as they where sorting out a deal with madcatz to bundle the fightstick with the release
Ahh excellentThat's good news, but quite a long time to wait... this happens with console titles released on the PC though. What is the fightstick?
I have got the game but cannot play it with my freind who has the xbox version.
I thought the windows live was also used with the xbox360 ?
Eh, I'm sure we won't miss that opportunity.
Dreamcast Quake III, anyone?
I've just installed it yesterday. It's amazing! And it runs so smoothly even in 1080p with 8x AA on a 4850 (I didn't know what to expect - being a port and all)!
Doesn't seem as good on pc :\
It got boring very quickly. Played it a couple of times, now trying to sell it![]()

Its a good game with lots of depth but im still rubbish at it. Using an Xbox360 madcatz fightpad controller which is good enough although I now think I should have got a fightstick. Anyone here using a fightstick got any opinions on them?
I found the same myself. I guess I expected too much. I didn't play it myself the first time I saw it in action, I had my little cousin over at the time, and he's only 12, and he finished the arcade mode in about five minutes. Very, very "Is that it?" moment. I've played through it myself various times now, and it just leaves me feeling cold most times. Rounds seem to be over so fast that it seems I spend more time waiting to fight than actually fighting, and the balance seems pretty poor, so those magic fights where it really is a 'next punch wins' affair rarelys eem to happen. I feel sorry for the people that frothed over it and even bought those MadCatz controller things for the authentic arcade experience. A lot of cash for so little fun.
Got the mad catz fightstick. Its well worth it, adds nicely to the whole arcade feel. The weight is nice, and you can sit it on your lap comfortably, but the base has rubber feet which can hold it in place if you place it on your table/floor. The stick moves smoothly but with enough feedback to give you some feel for it. The buttons are a bit loose and could be more resistant, but you get used to it without it being a problem. They are responsive but not super sensitive so you have to actually put pressure on them. Finally the cable is nice a long, so you can sit far away from the TV/PC/Console should you need to.
I have the PC version of sf4 and bought the PS3 version stick because the Xbox360 one required drivers, and the PS3 one doesn't - its plug and play. Both are USB though.
You can get SANWA parts to replace the ones that come as standard, but I dont see a need to.
Oh and no blisters!
Pretty much it. I would have pointed you to the review I made on amazon for it, but apparently I didn't submit it....
Have you played any of the other SF? They are all pretty much the same, unless you keened up 3rd strike...which was ridiculous.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I heard a few bad things about the fightpad (mostly to do with the d-pad upper-diagonals), which made me think twice about getting one, so I'll probably get some Saturn USB pads instead (2 off ebay for the price of a fightpad).
I still get beaten quite handily online. I've got a lot more practice to do...
Did anyone else watch the Evo Championships when it was on? It was pretty eye-opening to see SFIV play at the highest level. The commentators are also adept at explaining the action, which is handy as most of the nuances and strategies of the match would otherwise go right over my head!
The tournament's site provides links to archived footage from the event, and this video contains the final (quite an atmosphere!).
Street Fighter IV would be an excellent game to play on the PC, and I don't know why they didn't release along with the other versions. Online play is so much easier on the PC/.
