    Riddick demo

Evening all , I'm a newish member to the Hexus community so i thought i should introduce myself before posting my comments etc . So , er yeah , I'm Clocker 1 , I'm 28 and i joined the Hexus forums through becoming a Scan customer really ! but I'm glad i did as i found these forums and its a great little community you guys have made . Ive been a gamer/computer enthusiast since the days of the ZX Spectrum 48/128K ( oh those were the days ! well sort of ! ) and I've been addicted ever since . well that's me , onto my post . I have been looking forward to " The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena " ever since it was announced back in November ( i think ) last year . So when i saw the demo was available on XBOX LIVE i couldn't wait to see what they had done with the new hardware available - not just the 360 but PC & PS3 . But when i got the chance to play it i was not impressed ! I know this is only the demo but here's my personal opinion which not all people will agree with . Anyway ,It felt kinda clunky ( control wise and movement wise ), the graphics were very poor for a next gen title . so i continued to play the demo thinking well the game play will save it ! I'm afraid not , its nothing new , another typical shooter , there is nothing to make it different, new, or fresh there's nothing to make it stand out .I know its only the demo and ONLY my opinion. So please let me know your comments etc if you try it . But i felt sadly let down , compared to " Butchers Bay " its ... well you try it and see

    Welcome to Hexus!

I think you're being a touch harsh, but then again I only played it until I died the first time. Either was I think having a good remake of Butcher's Bay will be worth it, and if Dark Athena's half decent that'll be a bonus.

They seemed pretty much on par with most other 360 games to me.

From what I recall, lots of sneaking around, hiding in the shadows, and figuring out when you could pop out and snap necks without being noticed. Oh, and shiv fights.

    Re: Riddick demo

Buther Bay's on the PC was good for the time really, with a half decent story, and it also looked great for the time. I've tried the demo and cant really get on with it, though that might be due to my inability to get on with the controls. Didnt seem that impressed though, but I'd be interested in the reviews to see how the Butcher Bay remake part is.

Might have just been one of the games that is better in the memory than in real life...
