    Which Flight Sim Fighter?

    Hey guys,

Basically i went to the cinema last thursday and ended up in the arcade after. When i was there i ended up playing Blazing Angels and had loads of fun except the dam thing costs £1 a go!

Im looking something similar for the pc. Is there any you would reccommend? Should i get Blazing Angels 2: Secret Missions of WWII?

I also need reccommendations for a joystick for my pc to play it with

Im thinking it will be great fun on my 40 inch tv!! Woo

    Many thanks guys

I haven't played blazing angels 2, but if it is anything like the first it's probably worth buying.
See if you can find a copy of crimson skies, that was brilliant when it came out, not sure how well it has aged though.

    Re: Which Flight Sim Fighter?

Well, they're hardly flight "sim" fighters (thinking Sturmovik), but in the genre you're talking about I reckon Heroes of the Pacific was a fantastic game - it was extremely unrealistic, but a lot of fun and they cut out most of the boring stuff to focus on high quality gameplay. Its sequel, Heroes over Europe, is in the works, but I haven't heard anything over a firm date - Wiki suggests Autumn.

Nonetheless, Pacific should be dirt cheap and reasonably easy to run - I played it with a very old joystick via a MIDI port, which was more than capable of running the game, no need to spend a lot. I upgraded to a £20 Logitech USB job which again did the trick... if you aren't playing FSX or similar then there probably is little need to fork out.

EDIT: I just checked actually, Pacific is £4.99 brand new from Amazon, £1.95 second hand on marketplace. Can't argue with that!

    Re: Which Flight Sim Fighter?

I had Blazing Angels 2 for the 360 and it was a pretty good game tbh it's just more of the same but if you enjoyed the original it's probably worth a look, I have yet to play HAWX but I have heard some very favourable comparisons with the Ace Combat series and I'm sure there's a demo online.

Same here, still got Ace Combat 6 to clock and IL-2 to patch up though...it's a case of too many flight sims too little time at the moment in my house.
